My name is *****************************. My daughter, *******, attends the Lacey ******** of the school as a Sea Turtle. Recently, it came to my attention that my daughter has been verbally abused by one of the Lacey ******** teachers. The incident in question took place LAST WEEK and I'm just now hearing about it through secondhand information. This is completely unacceptable. You know this, I know this, the PARENTS that caught this act know this. They gave ****** an earful, but I still need to know why I, as ********* PARENT, was not notified that there was a teacher who yelled at my 3 YEAR OLD the day that it happened. I've signed incident reports for less. For them to have knowledge of a grown woman, who is an employee and a representative of your company, to scream at a toddler and a school ******** neglect to report such abuse to the parent is a direct reflection of their lack of accountability and awareness that these issues are happening right under your purview. I might've let it go knowing that the teacher was placed on leave, but who knows how many times this has happened and either A) Nobody knew or B) your Lacey ******** knew and nobody was told. That is an extremely dangerous precedent to set and who knows how many children have been put in harm's way because of your ********'s lack of care and attention for her students. Both her and her teacher's actions are in direct conflict with your curriculum and your Kind Student/Teacher/Community. Our extraordinary teachers form the foundation for our Kind Child program. We provide our teachers with resources and training to help bring awareness to their own emotions and intentionality to their practice so they can form strong teacher-student relationships, model emotional competency, and positively influence their students outcomes and perceptions of school. The ******** told me to schedule a meeting after I took time out of MY day to address it and the regional ******** is of zero help. The leadership useless.

We were promised a refund multiple times after paying a balance we didn't owe. We have called many times. The director (*****) continues to tell us we are due a refund yet We still have not received it. Additionally, after attempting to contact the regional director, ************************************* multiple times and leaving messages she has not responded.

(UPDATE as of May 2022) ********** of *************************** released entire file at my request. It states that Cadence Academy Preschool staff members reported that they themselves have been touched by the child and have observed the child touching classmates. The report continues and states that Cadence Academy Preschool recognizes that they enough reason to disenroll the child (inappropriate touching, hitting, chokeholds, etc.) but will not because they feel the child is safer at school than in their own home. I would like to know how they justify their decision to keep a child in care who is harming others while rationalizing that they are keeping that child safe. Where does that sense of authority come from or are they informing parents? I attempted to speak to the Director at the center and Regional Director but since receiving the report they do not answer my calls or respond to emails.(UPDATE as of March 2022) Since our familys abrupt exit from Cadence Academy Preschool other families we developed relationships with have contacted me. They shared their stories of the same child harming their children and it makes me wonder why Cadence Academy Preschool is still allowing that family to receive care while putting others at risk. In fact, one family shared that their own child was in the same situation that my child experienced, but I have not found any evidence it was reported to ********** of *************************** nor was the family contacted by them following the complaint to the Director.

      Re: ** No. ********

      Dear Sir or Madam:
Cadence Education, LLC hereby responds to the Complaint filed under the above-referenced ID Number.

On November 8, 2021, ******************** reported to Cadence Academy that a child had touched her child in
an inappropriate fashion while at school.  Cadence Academy reported the allegation to the **************************** ********** of Children, Youth and Families (the ***** that same day.  The ****
performed an investigation of the alleged incident and, on May 24, 2022, the **** issued a letter
      deeming the complaint Not Valid.

Immediately following the alleged incident, school staff employed heightened vigilance in observing
the childs interactions with other children.  No incidents of inappropriate touching were noted.
The school also assigned the two children to separate classes.

Cadence Academy has not received any other reports from parents or students alleging inappropriate
touching by this child.  Similarly, none of the Cadence Education staff at the facility have
observed any inappropriate touching by the child in question.  Given the results of the ****
investigation (complaint not valid), and the lack of any other similar complaints or occurrences,
Cadence Academy has no reason to believe that the child in question poses harm to other students in
      attendance at the school.
      Kind regards,

      ***********************

I would like Cadence Academy Preschool Directors ****** and ********* to tell me why they lied to me about how they were handling my child and the other classmate repeatedly throughout the investigation. The proof of their lies come from what they told me and what the interviews and investigations show. I would like them to provide an answer for why they think its OK to allow a child to stay in care that they admit they have enough to disenroll. They make parents sign agreements about how care will be provided and how their children will be safe, but then allow children who hurt others to stay enrolled. Why?
