On March 28, 2023, Orange Trees and Garden gave me a quote of $400 to power wash the pavers in my backyard. While they were on my property for the quote on the power wash, I asked them how much they will charge to stain the pavers and the owner told me $1,100. We agree on the price on both the power washing and staining job, for a total of $1,500. On March 29, 2023, Orange Trees and Garden came and did the following: a) power wash the pavers in the back; 2) soft wash my deck; 3) power wash/sanitized a small area of artificial turf; 4) moved my outdoor furniture; and removed some weeds. Because the weather was below 60 degrees that day, they said they cannot stain the pavers until the outside temperature reaches at least 60 degrees. I paid him $1,100 cash on March 29th and the agreement was for them to come back when the weather is warm enough to do the staining and I will pay them the balance of $400.00. He told me if I pay him cash then he won't charge me tax. For an entire month I never received one call from them to re-schedule. I gave it time because the weather was not reaching a temperature above 60 degrees. Now that the outside temperature is reaching above 60 degrees, I called Orange Trees and Garden to ask them to come back to do the staining and the owner is telling me that the work they've done (i.e., power wash the back, soft wash the deck, move the furniture and remove the weeds) was worth $1,100. That was not the agreement I had with them. I would like to recover the $700 that was paid to them because the only work they have done was the power washing and removing the weeds, which he told me was a $400 job, and not the staining.
