We did rent to own through *** Brown UDistrict location and we were fairly happy with the instrument, however my daughter wanted a different cello (***************************** Cello). When we came to the Tacoma location ************************* (manager) said she'll have me get out of the rent to own and have me get the credit on the other instrument (***************************** Cello) She said that our *********************** cello should have never been offered as a rent to own (we pay 20% interest on it through rent to own program). I asked why your system allowed to run a rent to own on an instrument that shouldn't have been rented out to own. ***** had lots of inconsistent answers one contradicting the other. First she said no string instrument over $2500 or $2600 should be going as rent to own, then she started talking about brass instruments (something that we are not in a market for). After we ran my credit she left everything open to snoop through my personal information, even though I asked her to exit from all the windows. She said that she'll need to close everything so that the system doesn't open the credit on my name. Well - I now have a credit opened with ************** that I'm not planning to use. Very unprofessional communication and lots of double standards and with an unnecessary credit opened in my name. I do think that since we're doing rent - to -own on *********************** cello, we should be able to return it and do Roudolf Doeusch rent to own instead without opening any credit, since we didn't have to open any credit on ***********************.

      Hello **************,

Thank you for giving us the chance to correct this with you.  We were awaiting your call on this matter thinking you were going to look for different financing.

I apologize for the confusion we seem to have caused you with this rental cello. You did apply for third-party financing through *** Brown Music and received approval but not for enough to cover the price of either instrument.  That's why you see something on your credit from Synchrony.  We do our best to protect our customers private information and ***** took care to close the computer screen after your application was made.  The instrument you currently have and the one you would like to exchange to do not normally qualify for our rent to own plan.  However, we made the initial mistake and want to have the chance to make things right with you.  We will agree to make the exchange to the other cello and keep it on a rent to own contract with *** Brown Music.  Again, thank you for giving us the chance to rectify this situation.  We appreciate your business.  Please come into the Tacoma store so we may get the instruments and contracts exchanged.  You will need to sign a new agreement since the price between the two cellos is different.  However, the money you have paid so far will be applied to the new contract. I hope this solution is satisfactory to you.

      Sincerely,

      Whitney Brown ********

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

I still like to you know that ***** did not close the windows with my credit application.   I asked her to close them  and she just lowered the computer screen.  I asked her again to close the windows with my information and she said she needs to make sure that no credit card gets opened in my name, so she will keep them open.  The credit card was still issued, so she didn't do what she promised to do.  ***** snooped through my personal financial information and I am furious about it.  I'm glad that the owner agreed to exchange our current *********************** cello to ************************* cello under same rent - to -own conditions and apply $390 that we already paid to *** Brown for our current cello.

      Sincerely,

      ***************************
