On December 9th, myself, spouse and daughter had appointments at Family Vision with ****************. I had an appt in the morning for a vision and contact exam. Originally the gal said she owed $85. I asked if she could talk to ***** when she arrived as she deals with the bills. When she arrived, the receptionist then says we owe $115. She said we have insurance, can you please bill them, at which she responded we need to pay the $115 but she will give me a discount of 15%. Not wanting to argue with her, ***** paid her and waited to see what insurance paid. Then when she asked for a receipt she ****** something out, made a photo copy and would not disclose what amounts she had ****** out.And of course, when I saw the *** she did not even bill them correctly. Instead just charged me for part of the exam. If you look at the ***, my insurance paid, and I owe nothing. This is a contracted doctor's ****** with my insurance, who by contract is supposed to be billed and only I pay the difference, not created amounts without reason from front desk. I reached out to doctor and explained why ***** had cancelled my appt that afternoon, as she was making her uncomfortable. She needed a timely field vision test (**** was having visual problems and just had a spinal tap and needed this test for the neurosurgeon), at which he said he would deal with it and see her later that day (this was a week or so later). Then about 30 minutes after I left, I was called from his personal cell (****************************) and told me that **** (the receptionist) threatened to quit if we came back. Therefore, he stated he couldn't afford to lose a receptionist. I should just file a claim with insurance and the BBB, and let you guys handle it so she wouldn't quit. i am deeply disheartened, frustrated at ****************. And extremely upset that **** is allowed to dictate his practice. I overpaid , my insurance wasn't billed, and I was treated extremely disrespectfully!
