I bought a coin at one of their auctions for $500 that they claimed was worth $2500 but when I got it back from the grading company PCGS it came back as 92 harshly cleaned and therefor worthless to a collector. Contacted the company and they told me to buy only pcgs graded coins and would not refund my money.Business response

At the Company's auction on 10/4/23, *********************************** ("Customer") purchased several **********************, including an **** Rev. **** Seated Liberty Half Dollar ("Liberty coin") for the price of $500.
Two months later, Customer telephoned the owner, *******************, to complain about the coin grading on the Liberty coin. Previously, shortly after the 10/4 auction, Customer had complained about one of the other coins purchased in that auction; that issue was resolved.
Pursuant to the Company's terms (which Customer was privy to), the authenticity of coins purchased at auction are guaranteed. The Company does not guarantee the grading of any coin purchased. The Company's rationale is that grading is subjective; in fact, the Company did not grade the Liberty coin, but passed along someone else's grade.
Due to the sheer volume of the Company's business, the Company cannot be responsible for the grading of coins sold, which is a subjective determination, but only the authenticity of the coin itself. Neither Customer nor the Company denies the authenticity of the Liberty coin.
The Company attempted to resolve the dispute with Customer regarding the sale of the Liberty coin, but was unable to do so. The Liberty coin, being authentic, retains a certain value upon purchase by Customer.
