My wife and I rented a property from Sunworld for approx 3 years. We decided to buy a house and informed Sunworld that we would be terminating our lease early and requested info on the requirements to do that. We followed each step to the letter and we were very diligent about making sure the process went smoothly . The terms of the termination were as follows. The tenant is to occupy the property and pay rent until a new lease is signed, and pay a fee of one months rent for marketing the property. This fee amounted to $2400 dollars. This fee was paid as well as the pre paid rent for the month of July. The landlord then said that the property was rented by a new occupant, but that they would not move in until august 1st 2023, so this would mean that we would not receive a prorated rent repayment for the month of July. On July 29TH ************************************************************************************************************************************ the driveway. I rang the doorbell and spoke shortly with the occupant and asked for the package. He said he hadnt seen it and the issue was dropped. I then asked him when he had signed his lease and when he moved in, describing to him my situation and he gave me the info willingly and cordially. I told him I had no issue with him and that I hoped he enjoyed the new place. Sunworld the called me the following Monday and began to claim that because I had paid the marketing fee (now rebranded an early termination fee by **** the representative on the phone) that I was not entitled to any form of rent repayment. He then proceeded to claim that I was trespassing and harassing his tenant. I have had many unpleasant phone calls with **** specifically where he has been threatening to extort us and not repay deposits etc. A brief search through yelp reviews will yield similar complaints.Business response

After reviewing the history on the property, tenants' monthly rents is *******, that would make a credit for four days of rent at ***** dollars per day which is ****** dollars. We received a house cleaning bill for ****** dollars We have posted the remainder of the bill to tenants' ledger which is now due and payable.Initial Complaint

They're bookkeeper really ***** they raise your ramp and then they don't keep the ledger up and then when you pay up the money they say you didn't pay it all like 5 months later they call me and say I still owe them $425 I've been with him for 10 years and I always pay my rent on time I just think the bookkeeping is not really good you need to go check on them I think someone is skimming from the top or or I don't knowBusiness response

The tenants rent went up and she did not pay the increased amount. She was given notice of the same. I am sorry she feels the way she does.
