Gregory Landscaping sent me an emailed bid for $70 for lawn mowing and edging lawn service which was performed on 5/11/2022 at 6-9pm at night. When they came out Wednesday for what I believed, and had communicated, was a standard lawn mowing service they billed me $362.81. When I called the owner, ******** Gregory, to discuss the unsightly cost difference she explained that while doing the lawn service we had agreed upon and she decided to add in weeding without consulting me about the additional work/charges. Please note that the bid price adjustment was never accepted nor seen by me except for post service. Also note that the bid change was adjusted on 5/13 via email and was sent to me at 1:38am. She is unwilling to adjust her **** and is continuing to insist that I pay her $362.81. I am happy to pay her the bid price of $70.00, and even willing to throw in an extra $30.00 for the additional weeding she provided without my consent ($100.00) total. I even told her on the phone that if she was willing to adjust her ****, I would pay her $200.00 to be kind and to save me the hassle of contacting the BBB. However, the $362.81 amount is both dishonest, unreasonable, and an utter scam.

      Business response

      06/02/2022

This letter is in response to a recent complaint submitted on 5/13/2022 by ***********************, a former customer.
***************** and I met at her property on 5/07/2022 to discuss a project that involved a weekly and/or biweekly mow, trimming (on and around surrounding property), weed removal, weed prevention, mulch, & fence mending.

After walking the property, I let her know that I would work on a bid.
I submitted my bid via email through my software on 5/10/2022.
I called ***************** to let her know. She verbally agreed to moving forward.
I was excited and let her know that I had some ideas that she might like. These documents are saved, date, and attached 5/10/2022.

We set the next day, 5/11/2022, to start. It was agreed that I would mow & weedeat the south hill and return on 5/16/2022 to finish the remainder of the project.

I arrived on 5/11/2022 and completed the mow. In addition, I did the south hill as instructed.

The next day, 5/12/2022 I received an email cancelling services. In the conversation she states, "I apologize for planning the spring cleanup and needing to cancel."
I thanked her for the opportunity and sent her an invoice for completed work.

***************** and Gregory Landscaping entered into a verbal agreement/written agreement that was binding. For reasons of her own, she cancelled. Gregory Landscaping should be compensated for labor, equipment , transportation, & disposal fees for the day of service.

In addition, should this proceed to litigation, it is probable I would be compensated for lost earnings for 5/16/2022 and current and future losses associated with defamation of a business.

******************* has demanded to be billed a different amount than agreed upon. She is being unreasonable and slanderous in her attempt. However, I am willing to cooperate with BBB in an attempt to reach a meeting of the minds.

      Sincerely,

       ******** Gregory
