I placed an order and paid via the Jack In The Box app, for store pick up. It was late in the evening and inside dining was closed but per posted hours on app, website, and ****** search, drive thru was available. When I arrived at the restaurant, there were people inside but there was a large cone blocking the drive thru. I went to the door and knocked for several minutes before a female employee finally acknowledged my presence. A man came to the door and I explained that I was there to pick up an online order. The man stated that he was the manager and would not be making my order because they are closed due to staff issues (a few employees coming into work drunk over the past two weeks). I inquired about a refund, which he refused and said I would have to go through the app to request a refund. I have initiated a refund via the app several times now and my money still has not been refunded. The order was placed 6/6/2022. It has been a month now and I made the initial refund request as I sat in the parking lot, that same night. I have since requested a refund two additional times and still no resolution. Jack In The Box allowed me to place an order and pay but refused to fulfill my order or provide the service I paid for and then refused to return my money- in person and via multiple online requests. They need to refund my money and would suggest training staff on how to shut down the capability of placing online orders, in the event they decide to close during normal operating hours. It sounds like others have had issues with pick up orders in general but know the app wont let you place and pay for an order that is currently listed as closed. It would save a lot of frustration and negative experience for others in the future.
