Thank you for being part of the Healthy Paws family. We realize no one likes any form of premium increase. Your premium amount increase is influenced by two primary factors, the increased age of your pet, and the cost of veterinary care services reflected in the claims paid in your specific state. Your premium has gone up because total claim payments to pet parents, among other things, have increased faster than premiums paid by all pet parents in your state. As a result, the premiums for insurance for all pets in your state needs to be increased so that your insurer can continue to provide this type of insurance. Premiums are determined based on the rates and rating rules filed with, and approved by, each states insurance regulator, which reflect the cost of treatment advances in veterinary medicine, and characteristics of the individual pet, in addition to the overall claims experience for the program within the region where the pet resides. We do our best to be transparent regarding annual premium increases by including this information on the "Frequently Asked Questions" page of our website.

Kind of surprised by the bad reviews because in my opinion it's gotten better over time. Within the past few months I've noticed that my claims are processed and paid within a day or two as opposed to a week to ten days previously. I got the insurance when I first got my dog as a puppy. I've been fortunate that she was always been in great health and did not have to use the benefits. Sadly, she was diagnosed with a heart murmur two years ago and Healthy Paws has paid every claim for her chest x-rays, echocardiograms, medication, etc. It's a huge relief to have the reimbursement in place so that I can run every test available to me to keep her with me, as healthy as she can possibly be, for as long as possible. The one thing people should know is that premiums go up as your pet ages, but I was not really surprised when it happened and I am still benefitting from the policy.

We have sent every record for our dog and not one claim has been paid. They want hand written notes from vet but told us they dont except emails unless they are from the client. Run around after paying monthly for nothing

We're sorry for any frustration during the processing of your claims. As per the policy we do require medical records for all enrolled pets in order to process claims. Once full records are received (typically we ask for them when you file your first few claims) we will keep them on file for future claims processing and you will never have to submit full records again. In the future, if we do need clarification for a specific claim, we may simply request the date of service exam notes for that visit. After thoroughly reviewing your account, we found that the documents that were submitted as "medical records," are actually line-item records (these do not note any detailed information from visits). Medical records for your pet include doctor's notes, laboratory results, and other documentation regarding any of your pet's visits to the veterinarian. Our customer care team has spoken to your clinic and their staff stated they are unable to email or fax the necessary documents over since they don't have internet access. However, she will print them out and you can arrange to pick them up at your convenience and submit them. Once received we can continue to process your claims.

Healthy Paws took a nosedive for us. Their claims adjusters stopped processing invoices and then inventing reasons why the invoice wasnt valid. They refuse to do any legwork to answer their own questions, like follow up with the vet. And their customer service is just awful now. They just repeat the same canned language instead of trying to help.Recommend that you go elsewhere. These guys really fell off, and its sad.

We are sorry for any frustration during the processing of your recent claims. Insurance is a regulated industry and scripted messaging is used to ensure that policyholders are provided correct and consistent information. Your initial invoice submission was partially cut off and we were unable to use that for processing. However, we have since received a clear and complete copy of the invoice and your claims have been completed.

We have had Healthy Paws Insurance since 2018 and they have been such a blessing in emergency and new things that have arose for our pup! I knew after our first dog had unexpected healthy issues that with this guy we were going to get insurance from when we rescued him and chose HP. He has had 2 major things happen, a TPLO knee surgery and chemotherapy injections on his journey of life so far and healthy paws covered the treatment and we would have never been able to do it without them. We will always be a customer with every pup we adopt. Thank you!

Total waste of money. Over 3 years, took over $3,500 and paid out nothing. Would have been better off using a shoe box for my insurance. Every money, stick casg in there and take it out when I need it.

Were sorry you were not satisfied with your plan. We do our best to be transparent throughout our website, during the enrollment process and in the policy documents available to each client in their online Healthy Paws account regarding the limited exclusions of our policy. Those exclusions are pre-existing conditions, preventative/routine care and the office visit fee (vet exam, emergency exam, recheck or consultation). Anyone visiting our website can see this information on our Benefits, Coverage and Exclusions page. By making these limited exclusions part of the pet parent's financial responsibility, it allows us to offer a complete accident and illness plan. Since the majority of your invoice items fell into one of the above categories, we could not provide coverage. Were sorry to lose you as a policyholder and hope you and your pet stay well.

Healthy Paws Pet Insurance Services LLC CA Lic. #0H16053 ************ is a huge SCAM! Please avoid. First off, I got an expensive plan for an adopted fur baby but I didnt mind. Unfortunately we discovered several months down the line that he had significant health issues and once tried filing a claim but was not successful. However we continued on with the insurance payment; unfortunately my pup passed 06-09-2022 and amidst my tears I called as soon as we left the Vet to inform them. I was going through an account reconciliation last month for something else and discovered that HEALTHY PAWS continued to charged me till date. I reached out twice, they claimed to be looking into it. Again didnt ask for supporting documents from the Vet to proof that this baby really passed. They proceeded ti refunded payment for three months to my account and when I called to understand what the payment is for they claimed thats what they pay without supporting documents. I shared that no one asked for one, proceeded to forward the documents, again they said they would review. They did and their decision is that they will not pay because the document wasnt received before cancellation.

No stars. This company was fantastic until this year. Now they do not communicate when I file a claim. I have to call and I get no help. On the last phone call, I was told that a $200 invoice was credited as $135 toward my deductible and that I get 80% of my invoice toward deductible. That doesnt even make sense. Somebody took over this company and it has tanked.

Were sorry for any frustration during the processing of your claims. Please know the claims in question were covered and applied toward your pet's annual deductible. The deductible resets on your policy's anniversary date each year and must be satisfied before you are eligible for reimbursement. Reimbursements are based on your actual veterinary bills. We make every effort to inform our clients on how our reimbursement calculations work. We include this information (including examples) on our website within our "Frequent Asked Questions" page. Our process for calculating reimbursements has not changed and are approved by each state's Department of Insurance. Any reimbursement is based upon the deductible/reimbursement level a client chooses at enrollment.

I have been paying for Healthy Paws pet insurance for my dog for 8 years. Only had to use it once, but premiums kept going up. Recently needed to use it, and was denied. My dog had a cracked tooth and had to get it removed, but they thought it was a dental cleaning. Went through the appeal process which took over a month. I even worked with the animal hospital to provide the documentation that was requested by Healthy Paws. Did not hear anything back for that month until I called them to ask for an update. Was told that the appeal was closed because they did not get the dental chart, even though it was not originally requested and all the necessary information was in the provided doctors notes. There was no effort to contact me regarding the extra documents needed to process the appeal. They just closed the appeal without letting me know. I am certain, that if I did not call, I would have never been told the appeal was closed. THIS HAS BEEN A HUGE WASTE OF MONEY. For $80 a month, over 8 years, I would have been way better off just opening a savings account for my dog. I would not recommend Healthy Paws Pet Insurance to anyone.

We're sorry your pet had that oral issue. As per your plan we do require full medical records for all enrolled pets in order to process claims. We appreciate your efforts in providing your pet's medical records, but we are missing some needed information. Our team has reached out on your behalf to your veterinarian multiple times for those records, but they have not been received. Once we have those records we can process your appeal.

This company is a flim flam. Started from the dog with 10 months old premiums went up and up and up never made a claim dog turned 7 years old and they have it outrageously ridiculous increase you'd be way better off to stick this money aside and save his account. Nobody is going to pay for $500 a month for dog pet insurance. When you don't need them they're there when you do they aren't....
