I recently visited Shopko Optical for a routine eye exam during this initial exam I was offered a more detailed scanning of my eyes for additional $39.00. I agreed to this service, what I did not agree to was the additional visits I had to make because Shopko Optical could not fill out their paperwork properly. For example after the initial exam I should have only had to return to pick up my classes. Instead I get harassed two days in a roll because they had forgotten to charge me the additional $39.00 for the exam and that I needed to return to fix this although I was due to return to pick up my glasses by which I would have fixed their problem. Although I thought it was weird I complied . A little while later I received bill from Care Credit that was inaccurate because I had requested deferred billing and Shopko assured me that they understood of which they did not due to the fact, that Care Credit sent a bill requesting the full amount. Thus, I was forced to return for a fourth time due to their incompetence to fixed this billing. To make matters worse they argued with me when I requested that they credit my account and reissue the proper billing. Eventually they did as I requested, but I received no apology or remuneration for wasting my time and energy for dealing with something that should have been 2 visits instead of four.Review from Sherry G

My husband went to pick up his glasses and was asked if he brought his frames. Um, no... we ordered frames WITH the glasses!!! No one bothered to check before they called us that they were in. They went straight to the wall and pulled the pair that had been tried on by a ton of other people and placed them in there. Never bothered to ask us if a used frame was ok or compensate for them being used. Gave us a generic case and bag and sent us on our way. This store has super poor customer service and abilities to communicate and follow through. Was called by corporate after voicing a complaint and they refused to make it right. Would highly steer clear of this company!Shopko Optical Response

My husband has had eye glasses ordered one and one half months ago. As we continue to call to find out what is going on. Same old excuse "no they are not in" these glasses are paid for so what is going on. X amount of business days. How many business days do you need????? Who do I contact as there is no one in corporate we can find anything from? All these years we have been going to Shopko Optical and we cannot find the answers. ***************Shopko Optical Response

First of all I want to say staff was nice to start with, but that is the only thing going for them. I was looking for a new optometrist for a standard exam at a reasonable price. I do not judge my doctors by age but in this case maybe I should have, because firstly she asked do I have any complaints and I responded no just a little fuzzy. New place I dont know what to expect she silently keeps running tests on me and I assume its all normal. She never said a word sends me out with my prescription to check out get to the check out and all of the sudden Im charged for a medical exam I did not consent to or agree with. While I did get that exam reversed it all sat very badly with me. I see a neurologist ophthalmologist every 3 months and I brought in the paper work for him to see. He explains to me they were giving me a hokey diagnosis that is not respected amoung ophthalmologists. He proceeded to give my eyes an exam and said there was nothing wrong since I was not experiencing double vision I should have never been diagnosed with that code or had prisms added to my glasses. Now I already ordered glasses with prims and need a new pair out of my pocket. This company is full of either scammers or under educated people. I took a second exam out of my pocket and they agreed with my neurologist.Shopko Optical Response

Bought my daughter two pairs for glasses because it was buy one get 1/2 off. Not even 6 month in and the bow is flopping all over. Im so disappointed and angry that they dont have a year guarantee in case of manufacture defect. I thought the protection plan was for the 2 year of owning them. I spent $800 plus on two pairs and they at the store said its from normal wear and tear. I say no way. Shes 19 and is always very careful with her glasses. I dont see why they cant send them in to have them looked at by the company so they can determine if its normal wear and tear or a manufacturer defect. They are not in a position to say one way or another. The manufacture of the frames is.Shopko Optical Response

Went in to shopko optical on ***************** in *********, ** . . . I received an eye vision exam for contacts and glasses . . . i ordered the glasses and contacts to be picked up when the glasses were ready . . . They took my email and asked if i wanted them to text me also when they were in . . . I said heck yeah because i receive text faster than i check my emails so i gave them my cell number . . . . 4 . . . yes FOUR month later i called them as to where my glasses were as they make them in ******, Wi, which is about 20 minutes away from my exam location . . . This is ridiculous . . . Would not go to shopko again . . . i would have given a zero star rating but wasn't an optionShopko Optical Response

My new glasses with supposed scratch coat, scratched when I was cleaning them. I had only had them two weeks. Since I had already made a style exchange I was told I couldnt get a refund. It doesnt seem fair that I pay for scratch coat but have no warranty or proof that it is on my lenses. This doesnt seem like 100% satisfaction. Also would like to see fine print of warranty. Can I purchase warrant during the 30 day guarantee?Shopko Optical Response

I went to the Shopko Optical in ***********, **** about 2 years ago. At the time, my eyeglasses were new, but I thought I had an eye infection. The optometrist there could have cared less about me as demonstrated by the way I was treated. I did have an eye infection, got the prescription and left. I will never ever go back there as long as the same optometrist is there. ********************Shopko Optical Response

Three months ago I ordered my second pair of glasses from Shopko. I started to notice what they call stress cracks on one lense, which continued to get worse. Then the other lense started. When I examed them it looks like the lens were not made right for the frames. I’ve been wearing glasses 50 years and never had this happen. For many years I went to *******, then the last 2 years bought my glasses from Shopco (total of two regular and one pair of sunglasses) because they were so close to home and the doctor was recommended from a friend. I was told I had to purchase a warranty to have had them fixed free. So now I have to pay for new lenses. Now I’ve had faulty frames before which were replaced free but never with lenses. I always take very good care of my glasses so I know this wasn’t my fault. I’m disabled and can’t be putting more money out for what I feel is a manufacturers mistake. I will be returning to ******* even if it’s further. And that to bad bc I liked the doctor at Shopco.Shopko Optical Response

We apologize for the issues that ****** has had with her eyeglass lenses. I spoke with ****** and it appears that the issue is due to a stress crack related to the fit and sizing in the frame.
