On 4/11/2023 I met with the owner of Hillsberg Custom Concrete and signed a contract for him to install and repair our driveway located in the *****************. He required a deposit of half down which we gladly paid of $5000. On May 21st we started reaching out to him because we forgot to ask about who was responsible for getting the builders permit. He finally responded on 6/7 and said we were. We started working with the ***************** and found out that his company is not licensed with the city to complete the entire driveway. He could only install up to the apron. He stated he could install just the part he could and would adjust to price. We told him we would prefer to have the whole driveway done by the same company. We communicated this to him and told him we would pay the initial application/license fee if he is willing to submit the paperwork. We texted a few times in between and he said he would put in the application. That was on August 1st. We have left him several text and emails with no response since them. At time point we asked him to either call us to discuss the situation or refund us our money so we can find someone who can do the complete driveway and is licensed with the city. Our last date of communication to him with no response was a phone call on 9/16/2023 asking him to return our call or we would have to take additional action. All we want is either a full refund or call to discuss whether the application came thru and if he is still willing to complete the work we hired him for.
