We had our driveway replaced in September of 2021. When we spoke with *** the owner, we were concerned about chipping and cracking in cement. He assured us that due to his level of his mixture that his company uses for residential jobs it would not chip and it would not crack for years to come. *** had assured us that he would take care of everything with the *****************. We came to find out a month after that, permits were not pulled for this job. *** did reassure us that this was a simple mistake on his part and reimbursed us. Within a few months of our new drive way, we noticed that cracks were forming on multiple areas on our driveway. We contacted *** right away and sent him pictures. He assured us that since it was winter, there was nothing he could do but he would fix it the following summer of 2022. We kept in contact with *** but he repeatedly had excuses after excuses why he couldnt do the job. He promised us that another winter would not hurt and would get us on the 2023 schedule. Again this year it kept getting push back and finally we have given us on *** and his empty promises. We would like to get our money back and hire someone else to fix **** work. We have tried to give him the chance to fix this but at this point we dont trust **** words or his companys work. We have all his promises on email and text messages.Business response

This customer brought to my attention that she was unhappy with the driveway we poured at their home because of some hairline cracking. I reassured her I would come look at it. There was no chipping as she stated in her complaint, just some hairline cracking, which I told her on occasion will happen. The driveway was still fully usable and able to be driven on and parked on. Though the contract she signed with me clearly states there is no warranty on the work, I stand behind my work, and did not want her to be a dissatisfied customer. Therefor I told her I would fix the cracks when my schedule allowed. Unfortunately, due to material and staffing shortages, this took longer than she thought was reasonable. I was not able to fix it in the summer of 2022, and told her I wanted to wait and see what effect the winter had on the cracking before fixing it. I then reassured her she was on my schedule to fix it in 2023, but I couldn't give her a specific date. During the summer of 2023 I kept in contact with her via email and let her know it was still on my schedule to fix. She then decided she no longer wanted to wait for me to fix it, and wanted a full refund for the driveway, which I am not willing to provide. I have already provided a service and have offered to fix her concerns when my schedule would allow. She has stated she no longer has trust in our work and doesn't want us to fix the driveway. In addition to this she has threatened legal action, as well as having potentially damaged my reputation in the community as a business owner.
