I hire this construction company to make repairs to my house and my fathers. They stated it would take 1 week and so far have been at my house for 4 weeks. At my house, the original estimate was around 6500, the half way bill was over 8000, and final bill coming. I have them performing 4 tasks: repairs holes in ceiling made by plumbers during a water leak, removing stair rail upstairs and creating a wall, put a mantel up and putting shiplap down a basement stairs. First the wall was leaning, then the bottom rails of stairs were removed (not part of plan, but fine. Removed other one and stained base), then mantle was not attached as floating like requested and braces were off by a lot. Called owner to ask about the look of wall, some are cracked, looked funny and raw edges. Was told that is how it was suppose to look. Ask company to trim everything. They started to trim the hallway and crew member stated he didn't want to do this and he is unsure. Told the owner to just stop and I'll finish the trim. At my dads, there was a 3 in lip going into the bathroom. We asked it there was anyway it could be removed. Owner states sure we will remove it and level it. Which they did. Now there is a 3 in slant in my handicapped dads bathroom. When I called the owner he stated you and your dad signed off on it having a 1.75 in variability. The only thing he told me is that there might be a 1.75 in rise to get into the bathroom. To which I said my dad could manage that height. I have never signed anything with this company. My dad also states he never agreed not to have the floor level since he walks with a ****** and on really bad days uses a wheelchair. I have told the contractor multiple times my father has cognitive issues and everything needs to go through me. Also, the pantry at my dads house was built incorrectly and had to be redone. I have texts, receipts of money paid, estimates, bills and pictures of issues and concerns.
