This is a business that fixes and sells computers. I brought my computer in to get an estimate on what it would be to get the cracked screened fixed and for them to look into why it was running slow. I said I wanted a phone call before they started to work on it so that I knew the price and knew whether it was worth it to fix it or to just buy a new one. I never signed a contract stating that I wanted them to work on it. A week went by and I hadnt heard a thing from them so I decided to give them a call and he told me that he already started to work on it and told me the price of almost 300$. I told him that I never gave him permission to start on the work but he went ahead and just did it anyways. I believe that I shouldnt be charged due to not signing a service contract and not hearing a single thing from this company and how much it was actually going to be. He then told me that if I was going to argue with him I could just leave it with him for parts or to sell to someone else and that doesnt sit well with me. Very disappointed and tried to work things out with him but he was very rude about all of it. I just want to warn other people about him and how he does this behind your back. I also want my laptop back and I dont want him to keep it for parts or for selling to other people.

      BBB COMMENT BY STAFF SKW:

when she came in I gave her an estimate of 200 dollars to fix the screen. She gave me the go ahead. I ordered the parts- before the parts came she called and said she didn't want us to work on it. Thats after agreeing to the 200 dollars. I didn't charge her and I got parts I didn't need. It was verbal to go ahead and then she changed her mind.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

there was no time that I gave him a verbal go ahead. I said please contact me with an estimated price. I gave him my number to contact me. There was no contact. I had to wait a week, then I called only to find out that he started to work on it without my permission or any paperwork signed stating I was okay with the price and that I would pay for the service. He now has my laptop for parts he can sell and make money off that was free because I disagreed to pay for the work that he started doing. Still not happy.

      Regards,

Personally I never signed a service contract for you to start to work on it, if you did an update on it and can restore it back to its old setting that would be great and Ill pick it up.
I dont want to debate it with you. You can pick it up with a estimate fee of $35 plus tax as it is or just leave it with me for parts.
You can keep it for parts. I do have a disk in there that I want back. Please mail it to me.
      Ill mail it this morning

The above is the sheet she requested a text of which I sent her where I printed the $200 quote & she told me she wouldn't be able to pick the repair up till the end of the following month.
The 1st part of the text above was her text to me, the 2nd paragraph was from me & then she texted back telling me to keep it for parts & asking me to mail her a disk she left in the machine which I did.

If she wants her faulty laptop back she is welcome to pick it up ( the broken screen is out of the laptop & will not be refit )
I will waive the $35 estimate.
      I hope this is satisfactory.
