Had the company install a tankless water heater on 4/20/2022. When the plumber was on site during the estimate several weeks prior to the install he reviewed what they would be doing and the drain they would be using for the runoff pex tubing. I mentioned that the sink that uses that drain has been clogged for a few months and we dont use it much because of that. He said they could look at the sink separately when they install the water heater. The plumber said they had two options for where to run the water release tubbing. When they came to install the water heater they used that drain for the run off from the water heater. They didnt look at the basement bathroom sink. I discovered today that the drain is backed up and the water draining from the water heater is spilling onto the basement floor.I contacted the company today and was told that it is not an installation issue, it is a drain clog issue. The individual I spoke with on the phone said that houses as old as mine have issues with clogged drains. I asked why they did not test the drain before installing the run off tubing, but was not given an answer. I was told they do not have availability to come look at the issue and if they did it has nothing to do with the water heater they installed. It would be a separate charge. The other option they had was to tie the release tubing into the same drain as the washing machine.
