I booked this place to stay the night of May 4, 2024 back in February, 2024 because a group of us were taking the Door County Trolley tour. Prior to the tour, we stopped at the motel to see if we could check in early due to it being off season. There was a sign on the door that said no early check ins, ok no problem and check in was 3:00. We went to check in at 3:00 and the lobby door was locked, not a person in sight. Another person in our group called the number on the door and the lady he talked to said the employee didn't show up for work and she would refund all of us our money, leaving us to find somewhere else to stay. Thankfully, the place across the street had three rooms available for our group but at HIGHER nightly price. We didn't have any other option so we paid for the night there. As of today, we have nothing refunded on our credit cards. We called and texted with no response. I would like the amount I paid for the original room refunded AS WELL as the difference in room price because I had to book another Inn.*****-bi Inn = $124.27 (I want refunded)************* - $203.17 (the room we had to book)Nightly difference = $78.90 $203.17 to be refundedBusiness response

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
The business refunded the amount I paid to them $124.27; however, I had to pay additional monies and find another motel to stay at which was a great inconvenience. After reading reviews, it is apparent this motel continues to disregard their guests. I'm requesting $78.90, the additional money I had to pay for a different motel.

On 1/14, I reserved a 3 night stay in July and made the requested deposit of $129.96 via my debit card. On 3/29, I cxld the resv via their posted email address ********************************* No response. On 4/3, I again emailed requesting my refund and a letter confirming cancellation. No response. I emailed again on 5/4, and ***** finally responded saying it was the first she heard of any cancellation, and would refund my deposit. I contacted them again on 5/14 since I still had not received my refund; ***** told me refunds take time to go thru. I emailed them AGAIN 6/5 and ***** said shed look into it. As of today (6/6) I still have not received the refund of my deposit.
