We put down 1k as a fully refundable good faith deposit to hold a boat we were interested in that we had not seen yet in person. After seeing it, we decided to go a different route. We formally emailed them to return our deposit on July 27th 2024. No paperwork was ever signed. It is now August 3rd and they are still holding our money. First told 24 to 48 hours for refund. Now suddenly today 7 to 14 days. I am tired of being lied to. And just want my deposit back.Business response

Our team, both sales and finance, had been working with the ******'s on the purchase of a boat. After unsuccessfully working with our finance team to secure a loan, the customer made us aware of requesting a deposit on the 27th which was a Saturday, a day which our business office team does not work. The deposit was officially processed on Tuesday July 30th. The credit card processing companies determine when the funds are released back to the customer. We have seen it take anywhere from 2 to 7 business days for credit card refunds to fully process through the credit card system. We feel that the complaints both on BBB and the numerous posts on multiple rating platforms are aggressive and out of line given that the timeline of the refund falls within our normal business practices as well as timeframes determined by the credit card processing company and out of our control.Customer response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. We complained because we were told several times it would only take ***** hours. as per the Email attached. July 27th Until Aug 6th. is way longer than that. But we did recieve our deposit back so we are now satisfied. and btw our financing was not an issue. We decided to go a different direction the buying a 20+ year old boat. I am offended by calling us aggressive - as we were giving a different story every time by different people. they blamed our bank, us etc. We put a deposit down to hold the boat until we could look at it. then found a 2024 that was more to our liking under warrenty etc.
