11/4/2021 Billed amount $3500 Survey of property Dispute between verbal communication RE: cost of services; itemized bill Company has been rude and just demanded payment. We used Burt Surveying when building our house in 2013, and we had no issues, so we decided to use them again this year when planning for our new build. My husband called them in April 2021, and he was advised they were a bit behind but would make it out in about 2 months. They also told a tentative quote of the project cost around $2500. (our fault was not getting this in writing, lesson learned.) Five months later (September 2021) we called them back because we had not heard back from them. They advised us that they did not even have us on the books, but would get us in before the end of September. They did get out to get the project done before the end of the month, but failed to know one of the regulations/ordinances (90 degree angle) and had to come back out a second time to re-survey. We understand all of this, we are not hard to please. We were a little upset about the 7 month wait, but let it go. We received the bill today, and it is $1000 more than the initial verbal quote, and almost double our survey from 2013 (43 acres in 2 plots in 2013 vs. 2 - 2 acre plots this year). Multiple same points were used for the two surveys. We understand that prices would go up from almost 10 years ago, (we aren't stupid), which is why the original quote seemed relatively reasonable. When we asked for some clarity on the bill, the email response was terse, unprofessional, and did not provide any kind of explanation aside from "these fees reflect our recent and current projects," denying any verbal communication regarding initial cost estimate, and a demand for payment. We have requested an itemized bill, but have not received any response. We also looked at average cost for the size of the project, and it is significantly lower than the bill.Business response
