Reference is made to Complaint ID No. ******** (the Complaint)regarding a Farberware Microwave Oven allegedly purchased by Complainant from Macys nearly 2 years ago on 11/29/21 (the Product).
In response to the Complaint please note as follows based on the information provided by the Complainant in the Complaint and her prior communications submitted to our company:
Complainants initially communicated with our company regarding this issue via an electronic message submitted through our customer service helpdesk on June 21, 2023. In that communication she informed us that she was very happy with our customer service response on a recent prior occasion but that her unit started to malfunction earlier in the day when she tried to reheat dinner, as she has done hundreds of times before, and heard the sound of electrical sparking.
We responded electronically to the Complainant over the next 2 days seeking additional information to validate the product warranty and initiate a warranty claim.
Despite Complainants allegations in the Complaint to the contrary, (i) Complainant had actually purchased the unit nearly 2 years ago in November 2021 and enjoyed the use thereof by her own admission for over 18 months - not one year as implied in her Complaint, (ii) there was no fire, only sparking noises, and (iii) the product was not defective.
Since the Complainant by her own admission has used the microwave hundreds of times and enjoyed daily use of the microwave for over 18 months without incident, it cannot be deemed defective simply because of some recent sparking noises, as the unit has greatly exceeded the manufacturers one year warranty as well as any implied warranty of merchantability.
Sparking noises can be caused by a number of well-known factors, including metal objects placed in the microwave, a damaged magnetron, a worn-out diode, or a broken waveguide cover, none of which is a defect with the unit.
Since Complainants one year warranty has long expired and for the other reasons set forth above, Complainant was rightfully denied warranty coverage and the requested replacement of the unit she had sought. Complainant is free however to independently seek repair of the unit from a third-party repair facility at her cost or purchase a new microwave.

Purchased a Faberware Complete Dishwasher for my son and daughter in-law as a Christmas present. Model no. FDW05ASBWHA. They only used it a few times and it stopped working. Error code E3 which means the heating tube is malfunctioning. Contacted this company for a resolution. Sent them all required documentation. They responded back stating they will not honor the warranty on this dishwasher because it was purchased from **** which is a third party although the item was brand new. They did not offer other alternatives to fix or replace the dishwasher. Not only am I out the money for the purchase but I have a product that does not work and the manufacturer does not want to do anything to solve the problem. The reason we bought this brand is it was rated number 1. Further, I do not agree with their decision. Purchasing it from **** is very similar to purchasing something on Amazon; they would of honored the warranty then. Their lack of trying to solve the problem is very unprofessional; leaving me, the customer high and dry. What kind of customer service is this? Especially for a well known company like Farberware and a licensed product? The manufactured date on the dishwasher was 2/21.

I bought a Microwave from **** in ********, ** 4 months and it was defective, **** told me to cut the cord on the microwave and send that with a copy of the receipt to EMG for a $100.00 Manufacture refund. To this date I still have not received the refund and all the phone number either don't work or I keep getting transferred to another number that does not help. If this matter is not resolved within 30 days from this complaint filed I will be filing criminal and civil actions against EMG.
