I contacted two men and a truck in August 2022 About a move I had planned on October 1 From ******* ********* to ********** ********* a distance of about two hundred miles. I admit that I was not a quite ready when the movers arrived but they immediately voiced concerns about time repeatedly saying that they only Had ten hours to complete the move. I was 77 years old at that time and as I suffer from emphysema I am connected to an oxygen concentrator 24/7.The movers picked up boxes that I had packed and my two recliners but when I wanted to tell them that I had put my heavy cast iron cookware in a suitcase on wheels wrapped in my towels, I asked my friend who was helping me and was going to drive me to my new home where the two men were he went outside to look and returned to say that the the truck and the two men were GONE,They never let me know that they were leaving and a number of boxes, small tables, a bookcase two floor fans and the suitcase with my expensive cast iron pans was left.Luckily the manager of my new apartment building let them in to my new apartment so the things that they did take were waiting for me when we arrived. My cousin came down to help me the next day and I did an inventory of the missing items that were left in ******* and we came up with 31 items ranging from my $300.00 printer to my flatware and various items. I have spent about $3,000.00 to date replacing things.I was able to have my manager in ******* send some boxes that had been left at a cost of $300.00 . The rest of my things were donated to charity in *******.When I got to ********** I of course called the movers but I got an answering machine and had no number to leave since I use a landline phone and my new equipment was not scheduled till the next day.every day i discover something missing and this move will be known as the move from H*** for the rest of my life. Considering the travel time alone I believe they should not have taken this move at all
