Hired *** ***** (***** Carpentry & Remodeling) in June of 2023 and provided a substantial down payment for work to be performed. Work was to start at the beginning of August 2023 and last approximately two months After providing *** with several down payments and signing our scope document for the work, *** became very slow to respond to messages. Eventually the beginning of August came and went and *** was unresponsive in emails on when he would begin work. As part of our remodel, *** ordered a front door and patio door for us. Both of which were paid in full at the time of contract signing. The doors were supposed to be installed in August before the weather turned to fall. August came and went with no work. Towards the later part of September, the doors arrived at our house. Both doors were incorrectly ordered by ***. I refused the doors and had them returned to the lumber yard. *** claimed the doors were correct and had them redelivered. Again, the doors were wrong and *** had to have the lumber yard come pick them up. I asked *** to cancel the order and provide a refund given the consistent mistakes. He refused to acknowledge my request and became very unresponsive on status of the doors. Eventually, I had to go to the lumber yard and inquire about the doors only to find out *** never resolved the issue. He didn't cancel the order nor did he place a new order. the lumber yard said the incorrect measurements were provided by *** but they agreed to provide another set of doors at no cost to ***. Its now March 26th, the doors are sitting at the lumber yard and *** refuses to have the doors delivered to my house. Doors that I have paid $15,000 for. While this was all transpiring, *** was very slowly working on our house. *** became a very big problem because he only would work a few hours a week and work was not getting done. *** consistently missed deadlines we set for the project. He would agree to a date and then miss it.
