As a black single mother of a two year old, I had been calling this property for a couple months, after being told that I was on a waiting list. I had my white coworker call on 10/06/23 to inquire about the same property and was called back within 20 mins. This is the most disgraceful way to be treated as a person, and when confronted during their call back to my coworker, they said to me, "You don't need to get hostile, we have done nothing wrong, you people are always getting an attitude." The entire time on the phone I was asking for the owner of the company's number to speak with them about this, no luck. This is where my tolerance is not allowing them to do this to me, based on an assumption of how well of a tenant I will be, BASED ON SOMETHING I CAN NOT CONTROL THE COLOR OF MY SKIN!!!!After the phone call, five minutes later their leasing office just happened to call my work place, asking to speak with me, the same number that I left on my application and I was unable to oblige due to working at a hospital. They tried their hardest to cover their ***** on this, but the language that they used and the tone of pure distain for me, was something that I will never forget, and would never want my child to know about either. No one should ever go through this when trying to find a home for your child and yourself. I am a hard working, educated woman and this place should not be allowed to treat people in such an ugly manner.
