On September 8 we checked into Norwood ***************************** Our room was unacceptablethe bathroom toilet seat was not secured down and my husband nearly fell off. The hot water would not work unless you turned it on underneath the sink and then you had to turn it off in order to stop it from running. When I flushed the toilet, the water came running out from under the seal on the toilet and I nearly fell getting out of the bathroom. The toilet paper roll was not secured to the wall and the toilet paper was on the bathtub. We complained to a very nice lady working the desk and she assigned us to another room. That one was not much betterthe toilet seat was secured with one bolt. The sink area had been sawed off leaving a very rough opening which was difficult to keep things from snagging there. The toilet paper roll was again not secured to the wall and the toilet paper was on the counter. There was a brown smear of something on the wall by the toilet. We went down to the desk and said we would not be staying for the second night that we had booked and only were staying on Friday night because we couldnt get another place to stay. We opted to drive back to the ********* area rather than stay another night there. I told the nice woman at the desk and she said we would have to clear it with the manager who was not in. I paid when we checked in and they charged us for two nights. We waited two hours the next morning for the manager and he never showed up and we had to leave for the football game as our friend was being honored for 50 years of coaching the LaCrosse team. We were charged for two nights and I disputed my credit card for 1/2 the charge$87.50 only to have it appear the next month on my credit card. I have tried to contact the manager about 25 times with no luck.

Checked in 9-10-2023. The bed was held up by an Ice Bucket and collapsed during the night. Try sleeping on a slanting bed. Then the smoke detector went off three times at 4:00 AM in the morning and maintenance had to come to our room to take out the unit. Our bank said we should have left right then and there but go where? The toilet paper holder was broken and there appeared to be blood dripping down the wall. We checked out at sunrise. We told them we would not pay the bill if the charge came through. We left the next morning to continue our vacation. When we got home (****) we spoke to **** at the hotel he said a refund would be issued, but they were having computer issues. When we called again, *** (who sounded just like ****) said **** was in a meeting. Now they will not answer the phone when we call. Our bank said since we spent the night, we are responsible for payment. I have given my review of this business on ****** and believe they should follow through on their agreement to issue a refund. Pictures attached.

I had reserved a room at the Norwood Inn and Suites in LaCrosse on May 26th to stay there 2 nights from June 2-June 3, 2023. I was there for the **** State Track Meet. I decided to camp instead of stay at the hotel so on May 30th I had called the hotel and cancelled my reservation which was way before their 24 hour cancellation policy. On June 5th my credit card was charged $133 which was a cancellation fee. I have called the hotel on June 5,7,16,27,29 July 7 and July 11. I had also called the owners who handle the billing a number of times. I was told many times my refund would come or my refund has been processed. I have not received a refund to this day and yesterday they are now telling me I should just dispute the charge with my credit card which could take up to 90 days. The reviews on this hotel are horrible. I didn't even stay here and cancelled within policy and still got burned by these people. They should be shut down. Their billing on my credit card says Days Inn because they used to be a Days Inn. Since this over a month long struggle the folks I originally talked with no longer work at the hotel and the new people have no idea about what to do.
