I started studying at East-West Healing Arts Institute in October 2020. The program was a 1-year program. I was given financial aid grants and I accepted a financial aid loan. I paid the rest of the tuition by myself. In April 2021, my father had a stroke in *****, and I had to take an approved break to care for him. I returned to school in October 2021, and completed my studies in March of 2022. In May 2022, I requested my school send the diploma and graduation information to the licensing board, but I did not hear from them. I took the licensing test in June 2022, September 2022, and finally passed in December 2022. The school still had not sent the diploma information to the licensing board. I have worked with them for 1. 5 months and they keep saying wait. The problem I found out was that they did not request about $2800 in grant ***** because their financial office made a mistake. Now, because they did not get the ***** from financial aid they will not release my diploma. The ***** was already approved for me to use for school, the school made a financial mistake, but now they are holding my diploma and not telling me why. I believe they want me to pay *****, but I already arranged for my tuition payment and signed an agreement stating how tuition would be paid. The school is now stopping me from practicing in massage therapy because they will not let me license application be completed. I have talked with the school, I have talked to financial aid, I am talking to the ********** of ********* and Safety, but it seems no matter what I do I will have to pay ***** to make the school release my diploma and this was a mistake they made. If you can help me that will be appreciated.
