I'm writing this complaint in regards to Laclare Creamery in ****************. I purchased a block of this company's Feta Goat Cheese some time in mid-May. The cheese had a bad taste to it and after eating some, I suffered mild gastrointestinal distress. I called the company on May 25th to discuss the problem. I was told that one of the managers would get back to me immediately. I received no response. I called again on May 31st and explained the seriousness of the situation to the woman I spoke with. She told me that she worked in the retail store but would have one of the business managers call me back and assured me that "we will address this issue and resolve it for you today". That promise was not kept. I have not received any contact from anyone at the company in a full two weeks. Today, on June 14th, I called once again and spoke to the same woman who runs the retail store. She told me she would once again pass the information along to the managers and have them call me back. I did not receive a call today, so I called yet again. This time I spoke to a different woman. This second woman was rude and obnoxious on the phone. She told me everyone had left for the day. I asked her why I did not get a call back and told her that the company wasn't being professional. She displayed a rude attitude. I asked for her name but she snottily replied "I can't help you" and rudely hung up the phone. I tried calling back but there was no answer. This reprehensible behavior and lack of communication is both unprofessional and unacceptable. I cannot get a refund from the store where I purchased it (***********************************) as I no longer have the receipt and in any case it is past the 30 day return policy. In any case, the product is dated for July 7th 2022 and the problem occurred in May of 2022. It was kept in my refrigerator, which is consistently at *****F, almost freezing and well below the temperature required to store the cheese safely.Customer response
