We recently purchased 6 cans of Lakeside foods 24oz. Beef with juices cooked in can product. We opened two cans to make chili for the family, noticed immediately that there was a massive amount of intestines more than half of the product in the two cans were intestines and they were nasty looking,something we would never expect from paying $14.00 a can for,which is more than you would pay for fresh beef at the store! So anyways we immediately threw this garbage product away ,no way are we going to allow this product in our kids stomachs, I called lakeside foods corporate office ,nobody answered ,so I followed the prompts to customer service and left a message re: my complaint, never received a reply, so I then went on lakeside foods website ,and left our complaint on three separate occasions, and nothing,! Nobody cares to respond to me. So we are hoping your office will help ** with this serious matter of defective food being allowed to leave lakesides facility ,and to be sold to the public this way. We still have four unopened cans of this garbage,and expect lakeside to refund ** our money,or send ** replacements of a different product that is not defective.Business response

We returned the customers phone message when first received, but we did not receive a return phone call. We have since contacted the customer via email and are in dialogue with him. We shipped a pre-paid mailer for the customer to return the unopened ********** a refund for the 6 total cans he says he purchased. We will perform a quality investigation on the returned product and review production records on the batch code for the returned product.
Our IT department also reviewed our website records and discovered that his submitted complaints were quarantined by our email security provider, which is why we did not receive them in a timely manner. Our IT department has fixed this issue.Customer response
