1 starI too have experienced the high pressure sales pitch that others are complaining about. I put in an entire heating and AC system with them about 5 years ago and have been a Capital Cares member for 4 of those 5. My most recent tune up also included a visit from an air flow specialist to help determine the exact reason for my high inlet static pressure readings. The basic solution started at $7,500 with options reaching $20,000. I was told in no uncertain terms that the furnace manufacturer has taken the stance to not honor any warranty issues if pressure rating are out of their acceptable ranges.I told them that any warranty claim from me would be fought until the bitter end given that they are certified representative of the manufacuter. They did the initial assessment and recommendation for the system that I purchased through them. The 4.5+ hours they spent here will never be recovered for me, the tune up was fine but the high pressure to fix pressure issues that existed from day one of installation is extremely bothersome and frustrating. On top of all of that, they highly recommended replacing an AC capacitor that was measured slightly out of tolerance, but working. The replacement cost totaled over $350 even as a premium customer. I ordered the exact replacement capacitor online for $15. They truly have my best interests and pocket book in mind. I will no longer be a paying Capital Cares member in the future, my trust in cares has been broken - I no longer see any benefit.- *** from **********, **Review fromSteve S

1 starAbsolutely the most dishonest and extreme overcharging company I have ever dealt with in my life, They installed a new HVAC system in our home. Paid for a system that required more intake air and they installed it with a whole different system that avoided that issue. Three years later and five tune *** later they determined I needed more intake to get me up to specifications needed before. Capital wanted $5,840.50 to correct the issue they created. Their employees are amazing and fixed the issue with 20 square feet of sheet metal in 1 1/2 hours of work. Capital charged us $2,000. I never received an invoice for specific charges. Capital basically charged us $100 for a square foot of sheet metal with employees cost. Do not contract this company, they are just a scam! EXTREMELY UNHAPPY WITH THIS SO CALLED COMPANY!!!!Review fromTony C

1 starLong story short. If you have other choices, please choose other companies. They will not keep their promises. Maybe they are a big company and they do not talk to each other clearly enough or they only care take your credit card. Mistakes start by whoever answers the call and everything went wrong from there. Lack knowledge with careless. Again, please do not use them because you will end up paying big money with incomplete service and still no one get back to you. 1 starI have had Capital heating come to my house three times over the last several years for heating and cooling tune-up and inspection. All were fine.I had them come out the middle of November 2024 for furnace tune-up and inspection. This time they told me they checked and there was too much static pressure on the return side of system. They could cut two holes in the bottom of existing duct work in the basement and add two grill plates, cost would be over $6600.00 and that would help the pressure issue. But to fix it they would have to replace the duct-work in the basement with larger duct-work, cost would be $20,000.00. This is the ranch style house and the length of the duct-work is 26 feet. These costs are ridiculous. I will using a different ************ from now on.Review fromBecca M

1 starComplete scammers. As new homeowners, we were told we needed a new furnace and were quoted $11k for a furnace and some ductwork that needed to be replaced (it was minimal). Ended up cancelling our membership due to the long response times and switched to another local company that then told us we were charged double what they would have charged for the exact same equipment. They cannot be trusted.Review fromMary A

1 starHad them do a checkup on our furnace. Cost $200+. Then because of pressure issues they sent someone else to talk about ducting design. She went through all the same testing and then looked at the ducts. It was pressure selling the entire time. The First Gentleman showed me pics of my burner and heat exchange that were time stamped with an old date of 9/20/22. The second gal said he had an old tablet and didn’t update the date on it. However, the other 2 pics he showed me had no time stamp. Seemed fishy. So to come back and clean parts it was about $300 per part. They said cleaning was only treating the symptom and went on to show me 5 different levels of fixing our furnace starting at $6,636.59 all the way up to $15,238. Lastly, they were here over 4.5 hours.

1 starI won a free tune-up for my furnaces from Capital Heating, Cooling & Electric so I thought I would give them a try instead of my regular HVAC company. On October 2, 2024, the Capital service tech, Colin, came out to tune up my 2 furnaces. As part of his work, Colin measured the CO2 in the exhaust pipe and said both furnaces were at dangerous levels and should not be operated until both the primary and secondary heat exchangers were replaced in each plus the burner for one of the units. The quote from Capital to do the repairs on the furnaces exceeded $5700. Colin said the CO2 on one of the furnaces exceeded 400ppm. Colin tried to sell me on the repairs and I told them I planned to get another opinion. I found Colin to be arrogant, obnoxious and very pushy. Seemed like he was under pressure to get me to do the repairs. Had to ask him to leave multiple times before he finally left. On October 14, 2024 I had an independent HVAC company, one I had not used before, in for a second opinion on the furnaces. The independent HVAC company measured the CO2 in the exhaust pipe for each furnace and found that the furnace that Capital told me was over 400ppm was at 27ppm and the other furnace was under 5ppm; also pulled the burner on the one furnace and said it didn't need to be replaced. Additionally, the tech for the independent HVAC company told me as the original owner of the furnaces the heat exchangers should be covered under warranty, which I was able to confirm. Capital failed to mention the warranty for the heat exchangers as well. Given this experience, I will never trust Capital to do any work for me in the future.Review fromTerti S

1 starI was very disappointed in the service. They left a mess of dust and metal shavings for us to vacuum up in the basement and in the driveway. They left black fingerprints on our walls for me to scrub off. As I went downstairs to offer them water, one of the kids was playing on our inversion board while just talking to the other kid. that is not very professional for the money that I paid. I took down all the tape that was over the vents. I know good help is hard to find. But for the money they charge. It is so not worth it.I will never use them again.I was going to go with a different company that charged half the price.I wish I would have.Review fromSandra P

Called to offer a free turn up than after came to my house, had the diagnosis as high pressure and took out one part of the furnace and wipe this part and put back . I asked what he does and he said try to fixed the high pressure but another day start making noise “bum” “bum”. I called and told what happens, than they said will send the technician. The technician came and after look for 15 minutes and confirmed how the sound looks like he said is because the high pressure and charged 200,00 for the diagnosis what given before already. I told him I never use they service no more because I live in this address for 13 years and I have “high pressure “ but never had this noise before and the day after the man came for “turn up” and try to fix the high pressure I start having this noise. He called me paranoid and said no have nothing to do what the other technician did when he try to “fixed” the high pressure. He said to put another furnace and put a new duct to fixed the high pressure will be 16,000. I had many different companies come before and never said nothing about the high pressure. I never going to use the service of this company anymore and they are over priced in every service. I use than to clean the duct and clean the furnace long time and they charged lots of money compared to others companies. Plus disrespectful by call me paranoid.Capital Heating, Cooling, & Electric

1 starThis company called me and asked if I wanted a $49.99 A/C check up. I agreed the technician came out, found numerous issues with my furnace and air conditioner. The work completed was to replace capacitors in both the furnace and the air conditioner and to clean the blower fan in the furnace. The first price given was about $1700 to fix everything and then the price changed and the boss said he could do it for $1100 if I fixed it today. I felt like I was buying a car at a used car lot. I paid the invoice and then another technician came and said he was going to evaluate the static airflow issue, but that is an additional cost which was not related to me. I thought the price I paid would fix all the issues. The technician told me what he thought the issue was, but never told me how much it would cost to fix it for the static airflow. The technicians attitude was condescending and he had a ********** badge on his bag. This is a bait and switch business model so beware if this company calls you or if you do any business with them. Their prices are very inflated as well. The Manager offered me 2 movie tickets for the trouble needless to say the $49.99 check up costed me a lot more. Lesson learned but do yourselves a favor and go elsewhere so what happened to me doesn’t happen to you.
