In April 2021, we contracted with Pichler Painting to have exterior painting work done. Painting was done in May. Shortly thereafter we noticed pealing and blistered paint on the south side of the house. Warranty work (i.e. spot painting) was done in October. We were assured that when the paint dried/cured there would be no visible evidence that touch up work had been done spot by spot. But the repainted spots were visibly obvious (flashing). In Nov. I called Pichlers office, spoke with ***** and expressed his opinion that the inconsistency in finish uniformity was unacceptable. ***** informed me that repainting of the south side of the house would occur in spring, 2022. We called the office several times and left messages asking for confirmation that the work would be done and scheduling commitment. *********************** eventually called back and the repainting work occurred on July 28, 2022. We found paint chips on the ground that suggest the work done that day included scraping, priming and repainting numerous additional spots on the house. The end result is a new batch of flashing spots. The unevenness of the final coat of paint is not acceptable. There is at least one spot on the chimney where paint was scraped off and the spot was not primed or repainted. Our invoice states that the exterior painting has a 5-year warranty. On August 4, 2022, I talked to ********************************* when stopping by the office, since phone calls are not returned. ***** verbally committed to have one of his crews re-prep and repaint the entire south side of the house (i.e. one uniform coat over all surfaces) rather than just spot repainting of flash spots. He noted he would have to schedule this work as a full project and not just as call back work. It is now October 26, 2022, and we have had no contact from Pichler Painting nor have any of our calls been returned.

      Hi ****,

After working with you over the last year, we feel confident that we've rectified the situation. We've also recently confirmed that the issue has been resolved via a phone call with our owner, *****. We came back four times to ensure it was fixed to your liking and multiple members of our team had spoken to you throughout this time. We appreciate your patience as we navigated the labor shortage as well.

      Thank you,

      Pichler Painting

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Although Pichler Painting has made four trips to our home to resolve the issue, we still have one spot on the chimney where there is no stain or paint. We understand the labor shortage and have very patient.  Unfortunately, we plan to have to continue to resolve any issues with failing paint without the support of Pichler Painting.

      Regards,

      **** And *************************
