Hello Contacted ************************* Bobs Handyman Service, ************ , ******************* based on *A* rating with ********* Better Business Bureau On 04/19/2022 I accepted proposal for $3000 which stated the vague specs for the job and that job to be completed by June 2022 I should have been ***** when he offered to rush over that same evening to have me sign and pay 50%, I did anyhow and never really saw him again Details in attached word document and signed proposal in PDF attachment I dont even want to talk to him any further because he does nothing but Lie and makeup extravagant stories of why he can not comply I am also considering filing fraud charges or at least small claims BUT please review his A rating as this is the most unprofessional I have ever dealt with *********************************** ************ Thank YouBusiness response

I have never lied to a customer yet, that said i try and make every customer as happy as possible. ***** had called me at a point where i was home early for a change so i answered his request and give him an estimate. He agreed it was a fair price. After i saw him my life took a turn and i ended ** in the hospital for blood clots in my legs and had surgery i was out of work for awhile. I tried to call ***** to no luck he didn't answer any of my calls. I am working on getting his money back to him as soon as possible should only be a couple of days. If ***** doesn't believe that i was in the hospital i can get my medical records for him .I will forward a check to ***** as soon as possible at the latest it will be next Wednesday. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused him.

I stopped taking his calls because they were always what I felt and based on prior complaints from others I found to be lies (blood clot of various parts, stroke, heart attack,cancer of various types, Dog sick, car on fritz wife sick ...) I should have researched more as some friends did I will actually accept when I see my funds returned to me I expect this to end ** in court after all is said and done

On 3/24/22, I contracted with *************************, dba, Bobs Handyman Services, ***** to put up drywall in my basement. At that time, I told *************** that I needed electrical work done in the basement ceiling before the drywall work could be completed. Prior to signing the contract, *************** assured me that that would be no problem and he could delay doing the ceiling drywall until I could hire an electrician to take care of the electrical. He further stated that it would take approximately 2 weeks to complete the drywall work. As it turned out, the electrical was going to be much more costly than I anticipated, so I wanted to get the best quote possible, and therefore, it took longer than I expected getting a sufficient number of quotes. After the electrical work was done, *************** and his assistant resumed work on the drywall. I should note that his days began around 9:00, they would break for lunch around 11:30 a.m., and then finish up around 3:00 p.m. during this time, they would take numerous breaks to get some airi.e., cigarette breaks ( I only mention this to emphasize the length of their work days). Which means there was no way they were going to finish the work in the 2 weeks he initially estimated. In the meantime, I had a sewer back up, my ac went out, which made the conditions in the basement very uncomfortable. After those conditions were resolved, *************** refuses to come back to complete the work unless I pay him the balance of what I owe. Which is only 600 and some odd dollars out of a total ***** job. Hes repeatedly asked for money ( outside our contracted payment schedulewhich I acquiesced to because he always claimed he was broke!). I have every intention to pay him the balance of what I owe him once he completes the job!Business response

Yes ****** was correct on a couple of points, yes we went out a few extra times during the day because we were having a hard time breathing. After some investigating, we found that from her original flood she had in the basement something is very wrong in her basement with the air . my subcontractor that i know very well also complained about having a cough after working there. The previous people that fixed her basement had cut the drywall 4 feet up and didn't investigate any further , something ****** left out something that put us behind was the drywall that was left had black mold on it so we ended up removing her bar area were the mold was concentrated ,Yes she paid us for that but it put us behind even further and we had to carry it all out in bags and hall it away. that took about a week. yes money was an issue , we couldn't do any other jobs because of all the delays. yes she was ****** we were done with the walls but we had to wait on her making up her mind on which electrician she was going to pick, we got further behind. Than her sour pipe backed up the smell along with the original breathing problems we were having we couldn't work under those conditions. I think what did it for me is when i was going home she accused me of wrecking her basement door .Her door has a piece of metal trim and someone cut the metal were the lock closes ,i tried to explain what was wrong but she didn't want to here it, it was just my fault. My worker and i have been coughing ever since we started working there i even have a few drs, appointments to find out what is causing all this. I would like to get this finished for her.

**************************************first of all, ******************* is a liar. The frequent breaks they took were smoke breaks . Secondly, the so-called damage was done to my front entry/exit door that was covered with drywall residue in the very area that I pointed out to him.
the bottom line is that he wants to hold me hostage for the balance of his payment (contrary to our contracted agreement). I have already given him additional payments outside the agreement because of his numerous excuses, such as his daughter getting married, to the cost of gas. I repeat, I have every intention to pay him when the job is complete per our agreementwhat I fail to understand is how you can continue to give him an A rating, because after I started to have problems with him, I did further checking and found that hes gotten numerous similar complaints of asking for additional money before the job is completed

After reading Dorthey's reply i am truly shocked at her reaction did say i would finish the ***********, and i still stand by my first reply. I have not received any complaints from any other customers on that order of what shies talking about. She can call me and set up a time for me to come and finish the job. At this point I'm not sure that Dorothy will be satisficed with anything i do. This is my livelihood i don't play games.Customer response

**************************************i have asked him to come and complete the job. He said he would come to complete if I paid him the balance first. I was taken in by his sob stories previously when he complained about how broke he was. I will pay him the balance upon completion of the job. As per our written agreement. We seem to be going back and forth now with no resolve. I guess my only alternative is small claims court

I said i would finish the job i have not heard from ****** since then. when i responded to her complaint i said nothing about money before i finish ,i will do the job and wait for payment when i finish her job All she has to do is call and set up a time to restart the job.Customer response

That shows that **************** clearly asked for the balance of his payment BEFORE he would finish the job. I will contact him on 7/27/22 to see if he , in fact, intends to complete the job.
