My ;over passed away over ten years ago. As previously both he and I put items on consignment and had no problems. This was until I was taking things on my own, unaware that she and her gay friend who used to run Riverview Antiques hatched a scheme with the owner of Legacies to comment fraud and theft at my expense. Legacies would under value all my items, sell them to the f** from Riverview, who would price them as they should have been I subsequently found my items in his shop, priced at hundreds while the owner of Legacies did not value the items at their market value. Nevertheless, I have not seen one ***** from her. when I'd stop in and question her, all I got was equivocations and more lies. I do not believe she and the Riverview person ever intended to be honest brokers. Whenever I crossed paths with him, he would let out this devilish laugh. Other antique dealers are aware of both of their behaviors. Neither of the two parties have any conscience about bragging about what they think they have gotten away with. My items were stolen from me with fraudulent intent and to reek profits they are not intitled to. My antiques were stolen by these two, with malicious intent! I am not able to get any satisfaction from either party. My items should be returned to me, or I should be fully compensated for the market value of my antiques.Customer response

Thank You for your attention to this matter. I believe I mentioned the involvement of a third party '************************' in the theft of my items. The business' old location was . 175 S. Water in ******** Point, it is now located at *******************************************; The 4 items in question at this time are:one 19th c, writing(travel) desk, with hidden space and nooks for pens, paper and various writing tools, 2nd is a shadow box landscape view which has been cleaned.the third and fourth items are 2 B@W engravings of ancient warriors in gold oblong frames, which were framed and matted by a conservator in *********.I am currently in communication with her.Again, the owner of Legacies, took these items on consignment and promptly gave them to the man who ran ************************. I did see my items in the shop. He said nothing to me. Legacies never sent me a *****, much less a fair market price. ;Please add this to the above complaint or treat this as new? I wait your advice.Sincerely,*****************;Business response

In response to our phone conversation today, I am sending this written response regarding the recent Better Business Bureau complaint which alleges that Legacies Ltd worked with Riverview Antiques to take financial advantage of **************1. Legacies strongly denies that any alleged wrongdoing occurred.2. I have no recollection of ever discussing these alleged concerns with **************. Had we had such a conversation and the individual still had a concern, I would expect that he would have ceased consigning with the store.3. Before any merchandise is consigned at Legacies, the consignor receives a copy of the Legacies consignment document which details:A. each item that will be consigned,B. the initial sales price that each item will be placed in the show room,C. the monthly markdown for each of 3 months that each item remains on the floor,D. the percentage that the consignor will receive for each item sold, andE. the need for the consignor to pick up any unsold merchandise at the end of the consignment period.4. As a member of the antique/ resale community, I am aware of Riverview. I did not conspire with Riverview or any Riverview employee or dealer to take advantage of ***************5. Legacies customers include individuals, collectors and dealers. Once an item is sold by Legacies, I cannot speak to whether it is subsequently resold. In conclusion, Legacies has consistently acted in good faith with it's customers over the 30 years that we have been in business. There is no justification nor proof regarding this complaint, and I ask that this matter be closed out immediately.*****************,Owner Legacies Ltd.
