This company integrity auto sales and repair did my oil change last on my car in October of this year, and because if them not putting the oil filter gasket on correctly it caused my car to leak oil while driving and ceased my engine. I called and tried to talk to a manager at the shop but he was very disrespectful wouldn't give me his name *** hot belligerent with me and told me it's not their fault qnd they would not replace or even help me get my car fixed. I had my car towed to a different shop and that shop diagnosed that is y my engine sized up. So now I'm out of a car because they messed it up. I just want my car fixed but not by that shop. Thank you for your time

We did an oil change on the vehicle in question on Oct 6. Someone called about the problem on Dec 20. Sometime during those 10 weeks vehicle ownership changed. Because of the amount of time that passed and the change of ownership we can't confirm if we were the last ones to work on the car, and regularly checking oil level is the drivers responsibility.

It 8s my responsibility to check the oil yes but it's not my responsibility subility to make sure that the oil and filter they put in us correct. The oil filter o ring was installed incorrectly and it's an internal o ring. There is no way for ne to check that without proper tools. And the vehicle did not change ownership and I explained that to them that my gf was using my car until we broke up. Because of the o ring being installed improperly is what caused the oil to leak and seize. This is their fault and need to be held responsible. Not to mention whrb I called their manager swore at me and wouldn't even give me his name.

If the oil level was regularly checked then the level would not have gotten low enough to cause any damage. If the oil level was actually low enough to lock up the engine then it would have had to be near empty, which would involve at least 4 quarts of oil leaking out and a low oil pressure light on the dash coming on. It seems unreasonable that a shop should be held responsible for damage done to a vehicle being driven by someone else with such obvious issues as significant oil puddles and a warning light on. If the vehicle would have been brought in with an oil leak and we discovered it was related to work we had done we would have repaired it for free, if leaks are ignored and the vehicle is operated until it's damaged we can't cover that additional damage.
