July 19, 2023, Magikist carpet cleaners came to our home to clean the two sofas and the carpeting.When the work was completed, a check was given to the service person for $483.00. I noticed after the service person left several areas that were poorly cleaned and staining on the wooden bases of the two sofas. I immediately called Magikist owner ****. He said that he would come to our house that evening and assess the concerns. Later that evening he said that he couldn't come but would come the next day. Which we agreed to. He did not come the next day. At that time, I placed a HOLD on the check. Over the following 9 ******************* Magikist made and failed to show at 5 different times. He cited reasons including schedule conflicts, over sleeping, and health issues. On September 28,2023 **** came to our home for the only time and inspected the wooden bases of our two sofas. Prior to leaving he said, "this is why I have insurance" and " I will refund you for the payment you gave us because this isn't our quality of service, and I will contact our insurance company to cover the repair cost, I know exactly what happened. The service guy didn't wipe the cleaning solvent off the wood, and it took the stain off." At that time, I informed him that the payment check had been placed on Hold following the unkept appointments. He said," okay, that will make it easier for the office people." As of this date we have not received any payment or communications from Magikist Carpet cleaning company for the stain repairs needed on our two sofas. We have sent several emails to the company, filed a complaint with the *************** of ************ Trade and Consumer Protection. The final responds from that agency were, Magikist Company failed to respond to letters sent. Since September the only communication from Magikist company has been a monthly Invoice request of $ ******. The furniture repair work has been quoted by ******* Furniture at $1,800.00.Business response

Everything is this particular complaint is true to the best of my knowledge EXCEPT one big thing that was left out, I don't believe I ever stated that this job is FREE. This particular customer was told by me to provide a valid check or credit card to make the job official and when I receive payment, I will be happy to turn over to my insurance and we will start a Claim. she provided a check and cancelled it as she stated. I feel we did a professional job on all outlined items stated in our INVOICE, it was unfortunate that light bleeding occurred on over spray from my technician's tool. So, with saying that could this of been handled a little differently YES, I did have many Health issues last year causing me to re-schedule many times as this customer did state but this was also this was about a 40-minute drive for me to resolve and unfortunately in my company I choose to handle all complaints and if you check our record with the BBB we have been a quality locally owned business for many years. Even though she has not paid for the services performed I did file a claim in good faith with my Insurance.Customer response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
[Following the original complaint with BBB **** Magikist did not respond. A filing was made with Waukesha County Small Claims court. This action finally got him to respond. I will believe that he filed with his insurance company when I see it. This entire process has been more than exhausting. **** Magikist stood in my kitchen and told me that his office would refund our check payment issued on the day of service. When I told him that after he failed to show up for several appointments I put a stop payment on the check. He became visible upset but maintained his composure and said well that will make it easier for the office they wont have to write a check to you. The next day we received an invoice for services. How can I ever believe a word this man says?
As of today I have damaged sofas and I have not received any correspondence from his insurance company. type your response here.]
