Morici Bros replaced part of a concrete driveway on July 19th. They ruined a downspout (which I fixed at my own expense), did not completely pick up garbage from the job site (including food scraps, metal, and old concrete) (which I removed), left an uneven finish on the slabs (there are pools of water when it rains), did not cut expansion joints by parts of the foundation and old concrete, and left a number of broken edges (with part of the walkway edge chipped and slabs with hollow edges).After numerous follow up messages ***** Morici finally passed by on August 5, 2024 to inspect my complaints on the finish. By his own admission the expansion joints needed additional work and he was going to bring a polishing stone during the week of August 12th. He even asked for a hose to identify the uneven areas of the concrete pour. He has not replied to my follow up messages and did not show up as agreed to on August 19th.I want him to fix the issues related to the finish including the uneven areas of the driveway, the chipped edges, and the missing/sloppy expansion joints or to return half the cost of the driveway so another contractor can fix what he wasnt able to.Initial Complaint

I hired Morici Brothers Concrete to build a new garage in *********, **. In the estimate it was quoted that construction time would be completed in 21 days. Actual time to completion was 6 months.When project was completed, payment was made to the contractor in full and a lien waiver was signed by ***** Morici. ***** Morici, as general contractor, agreed to use our payment to pay for all materials, subcontractor, fees, etc. Three months after project completion, I had received a letter from the garage door company threatening to file claim for lien on my property. ***** had failed to make payment on the garage door and was unresponsive to their calls for payment.I had to pay for the garage door (again) in order to not have the lien placed on my property. The garage door company had tried for 3 months to collect from ***** Morici, he blew them off. I tried to contact ***** once I received the lien notice in hopes that he would clear matters up, he was unresponsive after daily attempts to call and text. His voicemail is full and I was unable to leave messages. He will not answer his phone, voicemail or text messages.Initial Complaint

June 2022 - August 2022 I did enjoy working with ***** Morici during the quoting of my project. He did ask for a deposit for half the money during the quoting process and he cashed the check one month prior to the start of the project. This is the money that Im requesting back in total if $1,999.He didnt show up to work on the first day, nor did he let me know that he wasnt showing up, so I heard from my tenants that no one is working on the house on the agreed upon start date/time. When I finally reach *****, he said hes got car issues and wouldnt be back until the next day at 11AM. The next day comes and his crew is cutting up my front walkway at 9AM, then stops at 10AM and is gone with no explanation or communication. When I call/text ***** for a follow-up plan at 1PM, he tells me that h*** get me my money back after our conversation became contentious.We commit to dates written via ********** last verbal exchange on the phone and he still hasnt paid me back (July 31st, 2022).He said he would mail my check back on August 1st and it still hasnt arrived yet as of August 6th. I asked him to provide me a tracking# and he never did. We live 10 miles apart, so it shouldve been back within the week if he truly mailed it. He hasnt replied to anymore of my email, text, phone calls, voicemail messages trying to contact him for another check or to get me my money in another way.If hes able to pay me back my ******* money that I gave him at the beginning of the project, we dont have to escalate this any further and Id be happy to retract my complaint.Check his court records as well, this isnt the first time hes had issues.Customer response

I don't want to tarnish someone's company's reputation, so I was wondering if it is within regulation to reach out to him and ask in a non-aggressive way for a peaceful resolution or else I'll be forced to provide a ****** Review detailing his & my experience?Will you still be the case manager if I were to send a message asking for a resolution by next week so that I won't have to post the review on ******?
