      I have detailed dates, names, times of phone calls, etc. But until I'm questioned further, I'll be using approximate dates/ times.It started as an eye exam and puchase of new glasses and frames at herlof opticians located at ** ** **** **, ******************. My exam was early October, October 11 I believe. At that the lady who works there asked if I was interested in contact lenses. I said, I want to give it a try. I also explained to her that I had lasik surgery about 25 years prior, so wearing contacts after that amount of time would be like the first ever and that it'll take a while to get used to. Fastforward, I completed the additional tests and paid the additional $ for the contact lenses. When all was said and done, I paid all services in full. The lady said my glasses AND contacts would be in 3-4 weeks. Cool. I believe it was late Oct or early November when I received a message saying my glasses arrived. Great! It was a matter of days that I picked them up and had she tweaked them a bit to fit better. So far, so good. Until early January the lady called to tell me that they FINALLY arrived. Within a couple of days, I went to pick them up. I thought she might ask me to put them in to see how they felt, but instead she handed me 2 small packages that each contained 1 lens. I asked about a trial size solution or lens holder. She reluctantly gave me a promo pack, but saidthey were only meant for new customers. Wth! Anyhow as my credit card was being processed, she again stated she couldn't believe how long it took the manufacture to get them there. It didn't bother me until she stated that the entire process isn't supposed to last more than 90 days. I think the 90 day period would've been the third week of January. I explained to the lady that I was just starting a new job and I needed more time for the trial. At this point I have made 4 phone calls and left messages so we can come to a resolution. I want my $ back. I asked for a longer trial, no response.

      Employee was very rude from the start. Yelling claiming not their policy not their policy. Yet can't show proof and refused let me talk to manager. If your going to have a nasty attitude and don't know how to properly talk to people you shouldn't be at any customer service job. I feel bad for other employees that had have to tolerate that person's behavior and horrible attitude.

      On 3/23/22 I arrived for my eye exam and glasses fitting at the Mayfair Collection location. I ordered contacts and the attendant mixed up the left eye prescription with the right eye prescription. I just happened to catch it as I was leaving. I returned and politely asked her to correct it. As I'm on my way home she calls stating that she forgot to charge me for one of the line item services so I went back and paid with no argument. I get a call the following week and she said she misread the required billing requirements for what is actually owed...so I owe more. Was she having a bad day, or is she just bad at what she does? When I go and pick up my glasses and discover something crazy like the bifocal part of my lenses are in the upper right corner - then there's my answer.

      Hi All, On February 22nd 2022 there was a ice storm in Milwaukee I had an appt. at 1:30pm on east capital. By mistake I showed up at the office on east silverspring at 1:00pm. The office on east silverspring told me I was at the wrong office. Next they called to confirm my appt on east capital in front of me. Next the office on east capital told the receptionist that their system was down, the doctor didn't show up, that I shouldn't come to the appt, and that I should call Herslof's 800 number to reschedule. I called 800 number to reschedule and only to be chewed and told that I had to be put on a 90 day hold because I missed my appt by a ***** representative named Allie. She was so rude, and disrespectful by yelling at me. I then asked to speak to a manager. The manager Tina said that she would talk to her and change my 90 day hold to a 60 day hold since the receptionist didnt tell me to go to the capital Herslof anyway. She also said that she would call the manager at the Herslof on silverspring to make sure that they know the policy. This is not what I wanted to hear because the receptionist should of told me to go to the east capital appt anyways just to be put on a list! Just because we have state insurance doesn't mean we get terrible service and rude representatives. And I definitely shouldn't have to wait 90 or 60 days to be seen.

      I recently purchased new eyeglasses through Herslof Optical , **** ***** ***** ***** ****** ********* *****. They had generally poor online reviews, but I had no choice; they were the only area optician that would accept my vision insurance. On my first visit, I was told that I'd come on a "doctor only" day, and that I'd have to come back another time look at frames. When I retuened on a non-doctor day, I was asked not to try on any frames, as they'd have to be sanitized due to COVID concerns. On my third visit I asked to see frames with magnetic clip-on sunglasses. I was told Herslof didn't stock any such frames, but the manager said she'd ask the "warehouse" to send some for my approval. Nearly a month later, the promised sample frames had finally arrived. Only one frame had an actual magnetic clip-on. The others were the cheap, spring loaded type, not much different from the $14.99 variety available at Walgreen’s. I wasn't all that enamored with the one magnetic pair, but I ordered them anyway, as I urgently needed new glasses to replace my damaged ones. When my new glasses arrived from the lab, the manager just handed them to me, never offering to see if they fit, or make needed adjustments. After weeks of my ill-fitting glasses slipping down over my nose and the lenses of my clip-ons popping out of the frames seemingly at will, I went back to complain. The manager told very matter-of-factly, “Sorry, there’s nothing we can do for you.” She said I'd chosen poor quality frames, which are now discontinued. I asked why Herslof was selling poor-quality frames in the first place, and inquired the company had a satisfaction policy. She said she didn’t think there was any warranty. Google ranks Herslof 2.2 out of a possible four stars, and virtually every review references rude, unprofessional staff, unwillingness to help and complete lack of customer service. Many reviewers say Herslof is the worst optical dispensary they’ve ever encountered. I concur.
