      My policy number is *************** I had home owners insurance for 15 years since 2007 my premium $746.00 was due June 18th 2022 I paid the yearly amount. I made 2 separate payments one on May 11 $346.00 I made payment through my Chase on line account the 2nd payment for $400.00 the same way subtracted from my balance ***** states the payment was declined. I called ***** talked to Fulya and Thursday Aug 18th emailed proof the $400.00 was subtracted from ***** account she researched said ***** declined payment. Basically they wanted another payment by Friday Aug 19th or the insurance would be canceled Sunday at midnight. I advised her the bank said the money was there ***** can put it back in my account it takes 3-5 business days. ***** would not assist me made no suggestions or gave no alternatives. So I called Foremost let them know I had extenuating circumstances still no alternative offered so I canceled my policy Friday 08/19/22. When I researched other insurance companies I now am be penalized for no coverage anywhere from $500.00 up to $2500 more. I also found out from another insurance company ***** or Foremost could have changed my policy from the annual payment to monthly which Foremost had $219.00 of unused money from the initial payment I feel like ***** nor Foremost did due diligence and was unethical not to offer the monthly payment didnt advise me I had ******************************************************* $500.00 more. I called ***** Thursday 09/01/22 to try and get reinstated was told I would receive an answer Friday 9/2/22 by the end of the work day. I called Friday was told ******* in underwriting was working on it. I called Foremost Tuesday 09/06/22 never even call me back with a decision letting know they wouldnt take me back or rewrite my policy at that time I was told I was too late but Foremost didnt see any notes so she put me on hold ***** told her they denied me I would like financial compensation unethical and frustrated.

      I received a call this morning from ******* at B & J she said she was working on getting me new quotes they just came through today the best was $977.00 Conveniently after you contacted them yesterday.  I told her I didnt want to do business with a company who disregarded me and didnt represent me who didnt offer any alternatives than to cancel my policy after I had been with them 15 years.  I told her I wanted to see what the BBB says.
       I was told I would get a call Friday September 2nd by the end of the work day which I didnt get.  When I called Foremost Tuesday late afternoon  September 6th I was told she didnt see any notes from B & J but it was too late for Foremost to help me.  ******** called B & J and said I was denied to be reinstated.  So I signed up with another insurance agency Tuesday.  Which I got a discount for the annual so the difference is $416.00 I feel B&J and Foremost should refund me and more for frustration and their unethical tactics.
      Today ******* said Foremost denied me and she has a tapped phone call.  At this point neither company helped me they can figure out who dropped the ball as far as Im concerned they both did.

      In response to the insureds complaint, there were 3 different billing statements that were sent to the insured to make the $400.00 payment that was rejected (June 8th) by *********** The billing notice dates were June 8th, July 13th and August 2nd. In the end, we were able to find the insured coverage that was better than what she had before (cash value vs replacement cost) which was a approximately $230 more annually.

      I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

      I want my name cleared I did make my payment the money subtracted my bank account I was not assisted when I contacted my insurance agency for help.  When I found out the check didnt clear I advised ***** the money was still sitting there and ***** was going to refund me it takes 3-5 business days.  Fulya or anyone else did not disclose to me any alternatives which resulted in me canceling my policy which now I have a higher premium because my house was mot insured.  Then I tried to get reinstated and was denied I was supposed to be contacted by ******* by the end of the busheFriday end of the business day no call it was the holiday weekend.  So I waited and called Foremost on Tuesday and was told I was denied I had 10 days and I was to late for any assistance.  So I called another insurance agency got new coverage at a $416.00 more than my original and right now my home is listed Risk property I dont know if thats reportedly to the credit I want the $416.00 paid by B & J or Foremost and my name cleared.  Didnt hear from ******* till BBB contacted them.

      The $400.00 was returned on 08/23/22 the money was in my Chase from 05/31/22 until I requested the refund and I advised ***** 08/18/22 the money subtracted my Chase account and was never taken out and would take 3-5 business days to refund it was sitting

      No I dont agree with B & J something went wrong with the system for that payment I just came back from Chase.  ***** does not show a decline payment.  
      I called B & J requested a copy of the declined checks emailed to me.  Ill forward to Chase.
      I still did not get any help from B & J this is my agent who I thought would represent me and again I didnt get any help they didnt disclose any alternatives in my behalf regardless of the declined check if it was declined.  B & J had $219.00 of my money which they could have used to change policy to a month to month policy or gave me 3-5 business days for the money to go back into my account.  B & J was unethical by not offering alternatives and didnt contact me until after the BBB contacted them.  I was told I was denied to reinstate my home owners insurance with Foremost.  After the BBB contacted them the next day all of a sudden B & J had other quotes the problem is I dont want to give my business to a company who didnt represent me.  I had already signed up with another insurance company thats why Im asking for $416.00 for the difference from my original policy amount and what Im being charged from the new company and something for my frustration and run around.  Im still  waiting for B & J to email proof of declines 3 times so I can email the copy to Chase.  Still feel like Im doing B & J work back and forth run around.

      The attached Payment-Billing history indicates when the payment and reversal happened and also the reminder bills showing the $400 was still owed. Why the payment was not accepted by your bank is unknown to us, this is something that you would need to discuss with them. By the insured calling and canceling the policy this took away the opportunity for possible reinstatement.

      I called B & J 09/12/22 talked to *********;he is the manager he made no new offer he asked why ***** held my $400.00 payment and B & J sent me notice.  Im done if theres nothing else the BBB can do I dont want to waste anymore of my or your time on this.  I know my part and ***** part in this I still thought my agent who was supposed to represent me would take care of me a customer in a more professional way.I do want a complaint posted by the BBB I was not treated fairly  as my representative they could have gave me options 1. B & J could have sent a copy of the denied check.  2. B & J had $219.00 left out of the May 11, 2022 payment could have suggested to go to monthly payments.  3. Could have gave me 3-5 business days ***** was putting the $400.00 back in my account.  Foremost could have advised me not to cancel let me know if they canceled on Sunday 08/21/22 they could work with me.  I had been a on time paying customer 15 years since 2007 and expected what I paid for B & J to represent me in my eyes they didnt and I dont understand why the lack of help or communication.  So Im out of $416.00 extra dollars  Im list as a risk now because I canceled my policy although if I had ANY HELP from B & J or Foremost I would not have canceled my policy after 15 years.

      In response to the insureds complaint:
      On 6/6 we received a check for $400 from Ms. ******** bank. We made payment online with
      that check and the next day it was rejected by the insurance company. When ****************** called
      our office we told her that the 6/7 payment for $400 did not go through and she needed to make a
      replacement right away or the policy would be cancelled. She told us she did not have the money
      to pay. We instructed her to contact her bank to have the money put back in her account that way
      she could make the payment. The insurance company mailed the insured 3 notices (6/8, 7/13 &
      8/2) to make the $400 payment. (please see attached payment and billing history) We had even
      given her a new quote but she decided to cancel her policy and go with another carrier. B & J
      Insurance Agency, **** has been in business since ****. Our goal is to help customers find
      insurance at affordable rates. ****************** had been a long time customer with us. We do not
      like to lose a customer and its a shame that she left us, but in this case I feel we did everything
      possible to help her with numerous phone calls and bills mailed to her by the insurance company.
