I'm disabled a list of severe health conditions. I recently was given and very very unclean loft apartment. I haven't even been able to uncover my furniture. There is extreme toxic *********** in my apartment. My landlords have been responsive but with no solution. Every time I ask for a resolution to the problem they would just email me and at the end each email they would say they recommend a mutual lease termination. Then A FINAL EMAIL TO HOUSING ASKING TO START THE PROCESS OF T**MINATTING ME. Moving may me stressed, mentally, physically and emotionally. I spent money moving here so finding a new place would not be the easiest thing and I don't have the money to. It should have been sanitary. My fire alarm also went off for a total of 4 days now. Maybe needing a new battery. I called maintenance and they have yet to check on it. Lots of unprofessionalism. I had to call 911. I'm on a fixed income. And don't have the money to have this dust removed from my apartment and the repairs and the way that they gave me apartment should have been unacceptable. I have been to the ** because of the dust in the apartment. I have reached out to consumer protection.I have been in this apartment only a month. The pictures below are photos of my greeting to the property. I was given an apartment with 10 plus blinds missing, extreme dust and dirt everywhere around the apartment, numerous flaws and the list goes on and on, flaws which were promised to be fixed upon move in.The most important to me is inhaling this dust and dirt and toxic air.

See attached response from complaint ************** sent to ********** of ******** Protection.  ******** viewed the unit on three seperate occassions.  ******** is also on Rent Assistance.  They inspected the unit and passed it.

We will go back in and clean the heating vents for ***************  The apartment is a loft style with 20 foot ceilings.  The dust is going to continue to accumulate.  This part of why we offered for her to break her lease.  We told her that if she felt she couldn't live in the unit we would not hold her to her lease.

The smoke detector was functioning properly upon move it.  When it was reported to us it was taken care of.

If you need further information please contact me at ************.

      Thank you,

My vehicle was towed from the parking garage of my apartment complex, ************************* located at ************************************************************** on Monday, April 25, 2022 from my assigned parking space in the garage. My vehicle is registered with the leasing office Team Management located at ******************************************************************. I have been a resident of ************************* since December 2013 and I have been assigned the same parking space in the garage for the last 8.5 years. On Tuesday, April 26, 2022 I arrived at the towing company, *************, located at ****************************************************************** at 7:52AM and waited until an employee arrived at 9:17AM to retrieve my vehicle. ************* charged me $489.50 to release my vehicle. I requested to have my Team Management rental account credited for the cost of the tow in the amount of $489.50 or to be reimbursed $489.50 by Team Management due to my vehicle being towed by Action Towing due to Team Managements instruction. The cost to retrieve my wrongfully towed vehicle has created a financial hardship for me. On Tuesday, April 26, 2022 I visited the office and I explained my situation to the Team Management leasing office apartment manager for *************************. The apartment manager stated that he would speak with his manager/owner of Team Management to request either a reimbursement to me of the $489.50 or a $489.50 credit to my Team Management rental account. I called Team Management on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 to ask the ************************* apartment manager whether he had obtained a response from his supervisor, the owner of Team Management. The apartment manager stated that he had forgotten to ask his supervisor but would ask his supervisor on Thursday, May 5, 2022 when the supervisor returns to the office. Following my conversation with the apartment manager I decided it would be wise to send in a written letter requesting my $489.50 reimbursement request or a $489.50 account credit. My request was denied.

All vehicles are required to display a parking sticker in their window. Updated parking stickers were issued in December 2021.  The attached parking agreemetn, which ******************** signned states that ALL terms, which includes displaying a parking permit, must be met inorder to park.  A REMINDER notice to all tenants went out in April 2022 restating the parking terms.  This notices were also posted in the parking garage.

      Customer response

      05/16/2022

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

There was no sign in the parking garage stating that a parking permit was required until after my vehicle and the vehicle of four other tenants in the building, vehicles were towed from the parking garage and we all complained to Team Management about the uncalled for towing of our properly registered and authorized vehicles. Team Management had a parking permit sign placed in the parking garage on Wednesday, April 27, 2022. My vehicle was towed on Monday, April 25, 2022. On Monday, April 25, 2022 the only sign related to parking instructions stated Assigned Parking Only Violators Will Be Towed. Ive attached a photo of the exact sign posted in the parking garage.

Since my vehicle was parked in my assigned parking space as the sign stated, my vehicle should not have been towed.

I explained to the management office that my vehicle is serviced frequently by a dealership due to the amount of driving I complete. The maintenance sticker provided from the dealership is placed in the same area as the parking permit. I explained that I didnt realize that the parking sticker wasnt visible anymore.

My vehicle is registered on file with the the Team Management office. I provided my drivers license, proof of vehicle registration and completed a form requested by Team Management which included my vehicles year, make, model, color, VIN number and license plate. Therefore my vehicle should not have been towed at the order of Team Management for not having a parking sticker. As I explained to Team Management, a sticker falls off and is not permanent. There are a number of reasons that a parking permit sticker could have fallen off.

The ******************** of ***** Vehicles issues stickers when individuals register their vehicles. The police and/or sheriffs department do not issue tickets to individuals or tow individuals vehicles for not displaying or having a sticker. They check the vehicles registration to ensure that the vehicle is registered. They understand that there are several reasons that a license plate sticker issued by the *** to vehicle owners of properly registered vehicles, may not have parking stickers.
