      Hey by name is karis ****** in may teammangement took over its been hell ever since they tell the rent assistance people they owe more than they really owe so they contact housing authority when your balance is paid they continue to bill for something you do not owe they said they do that for all there residents who receive rent assistance even if they don’t owe than you when you on rent assist you can’t get your lights cut off and no eviction or you can lose it I am looking to take legal action against for discrimination for low income people

      I applied for the income based housing at the new 1887 Water location. The application kept crashing. When I was finally able to complete the application I was happy. Next day I went to check the status and it said it was incomplete. I called and spoke to Bri. She was very helpful at the time. She "reset" the application. Had to redo it. Another 2 hours down the drain. Finally finished it. Called Bri again because I was approved for a 2 bedroom but I applied for a 3. She said that she had me down for a 3 but no worries. Mind you I was not asked to pay any fees or any money for a background check. Again. She "reset" my application. Then I was required to pay $20 for a background check. This time I was denied because of my credit. Go figure. At the time the only qualifying mentions did not include a credit check. I do not understand how I went from an approval to a denial. Then having to pay just to get denied. I understand the need for screening. However I'm going to pay rent and living expenses before anything else. The qualifications on the website are misleading. Anyone who survived the pandemic with their credit intact has my respect. People who like myself who need income based housing probably won't qualify because of the credit check. Which by the way doesn't tell you the specifics of what they are looking for. I have no criminal record. Good rental payment history per their requirements and no evictions per their requirements. Team Management needs should be transparent about ALL of the requirements and specific reasons as to why a person was denied.

      Our applications are processed by a third party. A letter indicating who to contact was given. They need to be contacted for any information regarding the denial. Having said that, the propert is NOT income based.. You have to have the approprate amount of income to meet the screening critieria, but the rent is not based on income. Lastly, there is no approval or denial prior to paying the $20.00. The application is processed AFTER receivning the $20.00.

      Devin ******* is the building manager/ property landlord at Kilbourn Commons and I have had non stop issues with devin since 2020. He filed an unlawful motion on me and still collected funds from the government program funding and is still violating me as a tenant. He has cause so much emotional damage to my life and I’m tired of being misheard and mistreated because he doesn’t communicate or figure out how to accommodate for him being a slum lord. He calls tenants and ask us about things that aren’t supposed to be taken place in the property. He doesn’t check cameras to see half of the inappropriate things that take place. He doesn’t like to communicate via phone, emails or texts. He is quick to throw the other employees under the bus for his lack of communication and self care. I have called the city on him several times and the city isn’t doing anything about my concerns. I have reached out to a community activist and I still haven’t heard from them. This building is outdated and no repairs are being taken seriously. I have videos from my apartment flooding multiple times when it has rained and he didn’t do anything about it and the problem still isn’t fixed because he doesn’t want to put money or effort into this building. The turn over rates are horrible and this building needs to be renovated it’s been here for years and nothing is being done. He will hire someone to come do a quick fix on things instead of putting money into the property but will evict tenants due to personal issues. He needs to fired and held responsible for his lack of care because he doesn’t know how to run a business let alone handle business.

      In the past year and a half alone we have installed additional cameras at this site, installed brighter and more prevalent exterior lighting around the building, installed a new more secure front door, Renovated the concrete exterior stairwells, Installed a new garbage corral and installed new railings to improve the building. These improvements are coupled with the day to day repairs our maintenance staff performs at the site each week.Evictions are only for those who have either violated rules and regulations or unpaid rent not for personal reasons or otherwise. We also are more than willing to dismiss an eviction if tenants are able to bring their accounts to current status prior to their eviction court date, often times providing information about how to file a motion to seal.The issue over the summer with our drainage system was addressed promptly and there have been no further reports of this issue reoccurring. Which the ***************** *********************************** has confirmed.
