Deceptive practices, on top of so-so wine. They claim to send an announcement five days before your order is shipped, but it comes in the midst of so many marketing emails that it is very easy to miss. I tried to cancel an order; they told me it was already shipped and so could not be canceled, and the next day I received a notice that it had not yet been shipped but was in process. When I contacted them again they told me they were sorry for the confusion but it was too late to cancel the order. If I were to refuse to accept it I would be refunded but only partially, as they would charge me a $25 fee Beware. (On top of that, because of a similar situation several months back, I tried to cancel my subscription and they talked me into hanging onto it and just delaying the next shipment by several months. Its very hard to get away from these people.)Review from Mike D

I had placed an order as a gift for a coworker it was difficult to pick alternate wine from their recommendations. The order shipped and arrived. After the initial order I went into my account and hit cancel on the subscription. About a month later I receive an email saying that my next order is confirmed, I thought to myself how is a next order confirmed when I cancelled the subscription. I checked my email and there were no additional emails asking to confirm my order. I logged into my account and saw that the subscription never was cancelled and also saw that the new confirmed order had not shipped or been processed. It also showed that it was shipping to my coworkers address. I contacted the immediately to ask to have the order cancelled since it hadn't shipped or been processed. I was informed that I was too late because the last day to change or cancel the order was three days before I received the new order confirmation. How was I supposed to know that my subscription never cancelled or that a new shipment was coming prior to this. I had asked again to cancel my subscription and since the order didnt ship to cancel it since it would be going to an incorrect address. They said they would reroute the shipment to my address. The next day I received an update that the order shipped, when I checked the address it was still going to my coworkers address, in another state. I contacted them again since they said it would ship to my address. They said they couldn't reroute it so it would be returned to them and resent to me. Since it was being returned and resent and the above issue with subscription cancellation I asked to cancel the order. I then get an email saying they will charge me $25 since they shipped to the wrong address and it was refused. They will not refund the full amount for their mistakes. Stay away as they do not cancel subscriptions when asked and do not send notification's until after the order is scheduled to ship.Review from Paula R

Do NOT buy from. Our child bought us a gift card from their ad thinking they were getting us 6 bottles for $55. They did not clarify that is only if you join their subscription for monthly deliveries. I tried desperately to get the gift certificate refunded to my daughter BUT they would not. They stopped emailing me. They do not answer calls nor return messages. I finally had to do a chat conversation and was told they could not refund the certificate but I could still apply it towards an order. But if you don't sign up for the subscription, the wine bundles are $124-$174. The company has terrible reviews. Our child works a full-time job and part-time job to survive and was taken advantage of. The card used to purchase the certificate was then compromised after making this purchase. Do not buy from them! It is a scam. I ordered a box and it never came. When I contacted Bright Cellars they strung me along. I finally contacted my bank and disputed the charge and got my money back.Review from Sarah K

** order did not get delivered. I tried reaching out to customer service and every time I called the line would disconnect before I could speak with a customer service rep. ** emails went unanswered and the chat feature on the website also did not work. In short, I will be canceling my subscription to Bright Cellars.Review from Matthew S.

There's no reason to force people to fill out a "contact us" form to cancel. It should be a simple button click. There's no excuse for this dark pattern.Review from Marcos F

Bright Cellars makes it near impossible and complicated to cancel your subscription. While most other subscription services, cancelation is done with a click of a button, Bright Cellars has you jump through hoops to find how to cancel their subscription. This is a HUGE red flag. Also, once you send the email requesting the cancellation, they dont cancel and respond with dumb questions in order to prolong the cancellation process and steal money from their unsuspecting customers. They are a shady business and all these "responses" on here from them to try and provide a better experience is just an act.Review from R

If I could describe this company in 5 words they would be: predatory, greedy, dishonorable, unsympathetic, and incompetent. I experienced what most people here also experienced- a monthly subscription service that does not prioritize cancellations and will even bill you while bullying you into not cancelling. I was part of the service in 2020 and stopped using it because of personal reasons. I was finally able to cancel my service and be refunded after leaving several emails and a heated voicemail weeks after my initial attempt to cancel. I was finally satisfied once my money was returned to my bank account and I was promised by a customer rep that I would not be billed or bothered by the company further. Now I’m receiving promotional text messages for brightcellars so I figured I’d promote my experience with them here.
