    I was referred to Thompson Exteriors by a friend. After a horrible experience with a previous contractor I was hopeful and promised a better experience. Needless to say, it has been almost 10 months and our bathroom remodel is not complete (In total 19 months since the project was suppose to begin). Furthermore, the contractor has ceased all communication. I should have known from the beginning when the original estimate turned out to be incorrect. We also found out that the tile job was not completed correctly and has to be fixed. A lot of promises were made and tons of apologies but the job never was complete. There were many problems with designs, communucations and measurements and we had to pick out different options again and again. We are considering taking court action once the bathroom is completed by another company. A lot of items were paid out of our pocket when they were suppose to be paid for through the contractor and the money he was paid. I would never recommend for an interior job done. In speaking with other contractors, I found out they will no longer work with him due to these issues as well. The frustration of constantly waiting for another excuse was the worst. As a business owner myself ,this is not how you run a company, and would be appalled by this behavior.

    UPDATE 9/28/21: After posting my review, the contractor responded to this post within 24 hrs. However, has not responded to any emails or text messages in almost 3 months. Furthermore, has not responded to me personally to have any discussions or follow up. There have been many attempts through phone calls, text messages and even leaving a note with a list of everything that still needed to be completed and my concerns. I have exhausted all efforts to have this job completed by him,, which is why I had to then look for other contractors to finish this job. Many of the projects could have been done early in the remodel and the excuse that there is no time now is umwarranted.At least be professional and admit that you abandoned this job and had no goal of completing it and completely ignored your customer. It should not take a bad review to follow up with a customer.

    Thank you for your review, Kelly. We appreciate your feedback and would like to remedy this situation the best we can. In order to do so, we need to get some clarification on some of the accusations you state in your review. After reviewing the original proposal that you signed there were a lot of modifications that were made due to indecisiveness on what style/materials you wanted to use. There was also work performed on this job that was not included on the proposal which would be in addition to the original proposal. When work gets added on that is when time becomes an issue since there is an original schedule that is to be followed off the signed proposal. Since you are a business owner yourself, you understand the importance of the unexpected to happen and when it does to be able to roll with what you can and try to work it in the schedule when time was not originally allotted for the additions. I will agree communication did get scarce since we did have other jobs that you knew we were working on happening at the same time as yours. I did my best to return calls and messages regardless of if they were past working hours or on the weekends. I wanted to accommodate you and make your visions a reality the best I could with your custom requests or changes. You did have a few custom things you wanted in this remodel that did add to the timeframe which included the beautifully custom-built vanity. Having to do a few things multiple times such as painting multiple times or removing an already in place vanity for you also did play a role in the time completion. As much as we wish we could Thompson Exteriors does not control the timeframe that it took for some materials to come in. This job was performed during a worldwide pandemic which did impact the timeframe for completion and the length of wait time on materials to arrive. I agree that there were a lot of apologies when things could not be completed in the expected timeframe as any business owner should apologize for those and trying to navigate the pandemic with delays and other issues. You were asked to pick out different options when all avenues to get the ones you wanted were not able to be attained. As for the tile work, the work was performed by a sub-contractor and not by Thompson Exteriors. When the work was completed by the subcontractor, you were very happy with the completed project, so it is a surprise to know that it was not completed correctly or to your satisfaction. I am surprised once there was an issue, I did not receive a phone call, but instead this review letting me know. I would be more than happy to have a phone or even in person conversation with you and the company who claims it was done incorrectly to remedy that unsatisfactory in your opinion work. I am also in confusion as to who will not work with Thompson Exteriors after working with us for this job, when I have since then worked with them since your job. I am surprised by this review as well since my books show that you still have an open invoice to yet be paid, and I do not show any incoming phone calls from you stating how unhappy you are with Thompson Exteriors, or the work performed. I apologize for anything that Thompson Exteriors has done and would like to remedy this situation, if possible, with a phone call to set up an in-person appointment. Again, we appreciate your review and look forward to discussing this via phone or in person to help find a solution that works for all of us.
