In 2020 we hired Bulski to remodel 2 showers in our home. Bulski was the ** and was rarely on site. Communication with us and the subs was challenging. Within weeks of our master bath shower remodel, we had mold where the floor and the tiled pan met, as well as mold on the shelves and in the niche. The mold was growing under the clear caulk. After the remodel, we contacted Bulski many times to let him know how disappointed we were. He came out a few times to remove and replace the caulk and even using a dark brown caulk which we believed was used to hide the mold. It was again changed to clear and the mold persisted. Bulski blamed this on our ventilation system, cleaning, cleaning products, and soap. Bulski even replaced the niche and the shelves stating that this would solve that problem. They were once again installed without a pitch, water pooled, and the problem continued. Ultimately, we were told that our shower would not pass a home inspection and we needed to fix it. We tried again to get assistance from Bulski. He stated that he would reach out to the sub that did the tiled pan. Again, communication was challenging and the sub eventually called us. We needed to move forward and Bulski sad that he would only replace the niche and the shelves. He did not plan on creating a pitch and this would have been a waste of time. The pan was not pitched correctly and the wall panel was cut too short creating a gap of 1/4 inch. This gap was the problem, the caulk was too thick and would never cure. How could this have not been addressed at the time of the build or at one of the many visits back? In order to repair this, the pan needed to be rebuilt. Bulski claimed that this could be down without removing the wall panels, stated that he would not do anything to help the situation, and would not be giving any refund. We asked for a fraction of a refund to cover the rebuild. Bulski offered us $200 to cover the niche and the shelves.Business response

We are sorry that our customer had mold issues in their bathroom. When recaulking didnt solve the problem, we reached out to the manufacturer (Sentrel) of the shower wall panels. In response they said that their assessment of this situation is that the niche is getting sprayed with water when the shower is in use and its not ever drying or being cleaned. A silicone replacement or a full part replacement will end up with the same results because of a continuous presence of water and soap scum. The first step to solving this problem begins with the shower user getting that niche cleaned out and dried out on a regular basis. We did replace the niche insert and changed the pitch. Our customer reached out in August of 2022 to report continued mold issues where the shower wall panels meet the tiled floor. We reached out to our tiling subcontractor who poured the original shower pan and tiled the floor because it became evident that water was standing along the edges. It is our understanding that the tiler is replacing the shower pan under his warranty and in doing so needed to remove the shower wall panels. We would like to cover the cost of the new shower wall panels ($741) and offer the labor to install them.Customer response

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Would would like the cost of the shower walls and the $211 for the niche and the shelf. Bulski Building is aware that the tiled pan was replaced and that in this process the shower walls had to be removed. This happened weeks ago and Bulski was asked to cover the cost of the walls and the installation at that time. Bulski refused and the shower was completed by someone else. I would like to be reimbursed for the labor required to install the walss as well. We have given Bulski many, many opportunities to resolve this situation and were met with refusal to help.
Regards,

Bulski Building & Remodeling can only agree to pay the cost of the shower walls and the cost of the niche. The Customer decided to replace with tiled shower walls instead of the orginally installed Sentrel wall panels. We are not responsible for upgrades completed due to our tiler's shower pan warranty replacement. The total we will agree to reimburse is $211 + $741 for a total of $952.Customer response
