Last July 1 we hired BAPO Remodeling to remodel our bathroom.at a cost of $6000 for labor only which included removal and replace old tub toilet sinks and shower and flooring. We were to purchase materials and have them delivered. We were pleased with the results for the most part and felt we had a good working relationship. He had recommended the ********* 12x24 LVT which was a groutable tile ***** felt he could install over the old linoleum with glue. The floor was installed August 6th and the glue was supposed to dry within 30 minutes. When I checked that evening the tile was still moveable as the glue hadnt dried. I contacted ***** the next day and he suggested putting a fan on it which we did for a couple days. It still was moveable so when he came back he took up all the tile and scraped off what he could of the glue. At that point I suggested I would buy new tile and maybe he should put a sub floor in. He felt with the new glue he could make it work. He relaid the tile we waited a few days and he came back to grout. Within a couple months we started to notice some hairline cracks in the grout. After a while the grout started to pop out and we noticed smudges from glue that had not completely dried and oozed in some areas. On March 15 I contacted ***** and sent pictures of the problem and he said would have to come out and look at it. From then on he didnt answer texts messages or phone calls. In April we called in 2 contractors to look at the floor and give their opinion. Both felt the only thing to do was take it all out, lay a sub floor and get new tile. I sent the proposal from Landmark Remodeling Services for $1725.00to ***** which is the cost for replacing the floor with the same tile we ordered over a new sub floor. We explained the whole problem in detail and asked for only part of the cost $500.00. He has refused to communicate on any level so I felt it necessary to contact the Better Business Bureau. Please advise if there is a problem of uploadsInitial Complaint

Bapo Remodeling was hired to finish our basement. We write a check for $4,465 as a down payment on 2/19/21. ***** stated that he would start in a few weeks. After 2 weeks, we made phone calls to get a date set up, there was no reply. Numerous phone calls, texts went out to ***** with no response. Then in June of 2021 we asked to cancel our job, he replied that he would come out to talk in person. We asked for a refund of our down payment since he never started the job; he agreed. A week went by with him not sending a refund check. After many texts of his response being "working on it" and attempted phone calls with no response, ***** sent a check 3 weeks later for $2,000 on July 7. When texted about the need for a complete refund(July 13) he his response was "I'll be working on that...I'll send more money next week." A follow up message from us was sent on July 20, no response, again on July 23, no response, again on July 29th he responded "he will text once its in the mail". Check was never received, follow up again Aug 10, he stated he was waiting to finish a bathroom job and would send it in a few days. No check was received, followed up again Aug 27 with no response, Sept 28 with his response being "Trust me, I remember, Im working on it... soon." No check was received. On Oct 28 he stated that he was going to the bank to send a check. Followed up on Nov. 3 since no check was received, there was no response. Seven months have gone by with no correspondence with Bapo Remodeling. This company should not be endorsed by the BBB. We would like the remainder of our money returned to us.Business response

Business will be retaining 10% of the full payment expected for the project from the deposit, as payment for the labor and time it took to draw up plans for the consumer's project. Therefore, there will be no further refund of the deposit.
