Major code violations. This has been an absolute nightmare with this builder, ******** Wiebe. He tore out my steps before I could sign a contract, and once torn out, he refused to sign a contract. It took him three months to finish, after much prodding; he would leave and go work on more profitable projects. He left for ******* for ten days for his Bachelors Party, and I had no idea why he hadnt finished my steps. When I contacted him to find out where he was, he asked me to wire him some money. His work is not up to code. I paid him $3,000. I have tried to get him to take responsibility and modify the steps (they have to be torn down, and rebuilt). I filed a report with the state; they suspended his license indefinitely. This man has caused me so much grief. This is my first house, and I put a lot of effort into it to get it looking good again (after being in disarray for so many years). It took him three months to complete the project and it was only a small deck (3x8). He went to ******* for a week to ten days for his Bachelors Party, then emailed me to send him money. He refused to put the siding on my house he took off, telling me to hire someone else. I am currently filing a lawsuit . His license was indefinitely suspended by the state. I asked ******** if we needed a permit, he said no, it was such a small job. He tore out my old steps, then refused to sign a contract. The steps were inspected by the City Building Indpectors; there are many major code violations. ******** refuses to fix them.

Mr. ********************** was hired to remove and rebuild our deck. Which he did. Then he was hired for $1000 to assemble a Gazebo Kit we purchased to go on top of the new deck. Before accepting our offer, to assemble the kit, we were emphatic that he follow the manufacturers instructions carefully. We told him his agreeing to follow the manufacturers detailed assembly instructions was a prerequisite to hiring him. (I have documented proof of this.) A glaring point, emphasizing the fact that instructions were not followed, was the fact that the 4 main corner posts were attached BEFORE 6 roof panels where installed. (The very last step, listed in the instruction manual, was to secure the 4 posts to the deck.) Because he fastened the posts early it locked the entire structure into place and did not allow for give and take as the roof panels were slid into position. I have confirmed with the manufacturer that NOT bolting the 4 posts in place was critical as the structure needed to flex as the roof installed. Mr ********************** jammed and forced the 6 panels in, trying to get them in. The result was 1 of 2 roof beam bolts, that connects the beam to the ***** end, broke and the securing bolt popped out. The beam also broke and slipped back off the bracket it was bolted to. During the first rainstorm after assembly, the roof leaked. We immediately reached out to Mr ********************** about the leaking roof. He offered to come fix it and said he would need to add more screws to the roof. After he fixed it, the roof leaked even more. Now Mr. ********************** is telling us to fix the roof again, he needs to be paid more. If the manufacturers instructions were followed from the start, we would not need the unit to be repaired. The gazebo is sold for many years thru 8 different retailers, all have posted hundreds of 4 1/2 to 5 star reviews. Most are 5 star reviews. Consumers are happy with this product. The only variable was the builder that assembled it for us,and the fact he did not follow the detailed instructions.
