There was a recall for brake lines from *** for my 2014 *** ****** I took the car to the Bergstrom *** ********** in Oshkosh ********* in December 2022. They said they fixed what the recall was for. In April 2024, my brakes were doing a soft brake, so we looked under the car, and determined the brake lines were the problem. I scheduled with our local mechanic to get it fixed. In the meantime, my son researched recalls and said he thought this one should be covered by ***. When we took it to Bergstrom, they said when I'd taken it in for the recall, the mechanic didn't actually do the work. They claim it was an honest mistake, but how do you not fix the one thing you are scheduled to do to a car, then sign off that it was done, and charge corporate *** for the work? Bergstrom now says they are still waiting for the parts to arrive, as they didn't come by 4/26, like they originally said. They couldn't go through corporate *** to fix my car, since according to them this recall work was already done, so they had to get internal approval for Bergstrom to do the work for free. Meanwhile I've been without a car for three weeks, because they don't have a loaner vehicle, and the mechanic was on vacation the first week. I question if they're waiting on parts, or whether the sole mechanic there is so busy that they need to stall because he's got too many cars to fix. No financial cost to me, but I wanted to make public that the Oshkosh ********** might not be doing all the work they are getting paid by *** for recalls.
