Al Gilanyi performs home improvements and did electrical work in my home on July 22, 2022. I spoke with ** regarding his repair work because it did not correct the problems. ** explained that he could not resolve the matter and suggested I find someone else for the repair. I asked ** to refund some of the money I had paid him. Al agreed to stop by my home on July 26, 2022, to reimburse me. But I have not seen him yet. I am elderly with a limited budget. I paid Al $120.00 ( invoice #***). I also gave Al an extra $30.00 on the side. I gave Al a total of $150.00. I expect a refund of $95.00 to recover some of my losses. I enjoy helping people, and I have worked for good causes in the past. I understand how important it is to do what is right. I am hoping ** understands, as well, and issues my refund soon. I will follow his recommendation and find someone else who can do the work. ....Thank you for your kind attention, ******************* .....I will try to download a copy of the invoice. I have limited skills.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. Unfortunately with all humans we make mistakes and I am not exempt. I understand there is no excuse for my failure to refund part of of the job cost in a timely manner. I am rarely in ****** and the day I agreed to stop was met with other pressing issues in other parts of the area I cover. I failed to move the apoointment to the next available day. I will be sending a refund check of the agreed to amount on the day we first discussed this. I agreed to refund you the $30 tip. I do not feel that $65.00 more dollars are warrented as there was no contact made by you to advise me of my mistake. I am sorry for any inconveinience this may have caused.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

As mentioned in my complaint, I spoke with Al about his repair work.  Al did not correct the problems.  Electrical outlets in the kitchen are still not working.  The refrigerator and other appliances have no electric power source.  ** explained he could not resolve the issue and that I find someone else.  On my invoice, I paid $25.00 for materials and $95 for Trace Electrical Open/Repair - Panel charges.  I want to recover my loss of $95.  It is a traditionally established procedure to refund a customer if you cannot deliver services.
Thank you for your kind attention, *********

      Regards,

The electric was working when I left on the day of service. She advised me in the only phone conversation after service that the issue returned and thought it was only fair that I refund her the tip of $30.00. I agreed. I also at that time advised her to seek out a licensed electrician to continue to identify and repair the problem. I failed to return on the day mentioned and have since sent her $30.00 as agreed. In the original call to set up service, I advised **** that there is a $95.00 trip/Service fee that covers up to one hour of service. That is nonrefundable.

[Please type your response here.] Not happy.  I was not told I needed an electrician up front.  Saying it is not your scope of work later is now the difference between the project failing and meeting your goals.  Now I have to pay twice for the work to be done correctly.
