I hired them to replace some flashing around my chimney that was leaking and had caused so rot on the wood around it. I heard they were the best. I called and informed them of what was going on. The gentleman came out to inspect my chimney first to make sure that wasnt the problem before they replaced the flashing. I wasnt home but I reviewed my cameras. I was disappointed, he never went on the roof! Took a picture from my deck and left. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I hired them and expected them to look closer at it when their crew was up there.again I wasnt home when they came. They replaced the flashing and some shingles. They never called me so Id assumed it wasnt a chimney issues and all went okay. I go in my attic to see if they replaced the rotten wood around the chimney where the water had been leaking. And to my surprise, they did not! Just installed the new shingles over it! I am so disappointed with this company and they will never be used for any future projects! They should be ashamed of themselves for that poor craftsmanship!

*******,Oakwood Exteriors received and acknowledged your review that you posted January 24, 2022 regarding the replacement of the roof flashing around your chimney. On August 11, 2021 an Oakwood Exteriors estimator came to your residence and captured very detailed photos from the ground of obvious issues with your roof flashings. The roof is a relatively steep pitch so its very visible from the ground. You were not home for the appointment. A detailed quote for repairs of both your chimney flashing and electrical mast flashing was prepared and emailed to you on August 17, 2021 which you e-signed on the same day. The project was started and completed on September 7, 2021. The repair crew captured very detailed photos from start to finish of the work that was conducted. The roofing underlayment was cut back around the chimney and the 3/4 roof decking was inspected and found to be sound with no visible rot, damage, or softness from the exterior; therefore it was not replaced. These photos were emailed to you with a link to view along with the final invoice on the same day.A follow-up email asking you if you had any questions, comments, or concerns regarding your project was sent to you on September 8th, 2021. No response was received. The scope of work detailed-out in your initial quote was executed perfectly. Upon completion and invoicing of the project, Oakwood Exteriors was not contacted by you with any of the concerns you mentioned in your BBB review until 4 1/2 months later and as the balance due for your repairs reached collections status. Oakwood Exteriors received the photos of your on January 25, 2022 of the inside of the chimney that showed water staining on the interior (underside) of the roof boards and on the rafters. This staining was not visible from the topside of the roof as water finds the past of least resistance; which in your case is small gaps between the roof boards that the water dripped through the inside where the staining is visible. Despite their appearance, the roof boards are 3/4 thick, and from your pictures still appear structurally sound. Because you were not home for the scheduled initial appointment, we were not able to access the interior to inspect this area and therefor made all decision base on the topside, exterior evaluation during the repair.If you would have contacted us regarding this concern during the last 4 1/2 months we would have been willing to work with you to remedy this concern despite the facts stated above. There are mildew stain removers that can be used that work well to clean these types of surfaces which we would still be willing to assist you with once you pay your past due balance. Even if the roof boards were replaced there would still be visible staining on the rafters that would need to be cleaned.
