    In January of 2023, a pattern of complaint was detected for Riders Contracting LLC. These complaints pertain to consumers stating that they have paid a deposit for work to be performed, and the work has not been completed or in some cases, even started. Consumers also state that the business has been very difficult to reach and calls are going unanswered and unreturned. 

    As of July of 2023, this pattern inquiry has not been responded to by Rider's Contracting.

      On June 8, 2022 I paid a deposit of $5000 and signed a contract with Rider's Contracting LLC for a New Metal Roof to be placed on a propery I was renovating in Pound, **. Scope of work Rider's was to complete was also included in the signed contract. They asked for $5000 down so that they could order/purchase the roofing sheets so that we would not have to order and chance a delay. No contact was mad or confirmed Start date of the project. I messaged June 23, Aug 11th, Aug 16th, Sept 7 from 1 number I had, and No responses received. From 2nd number, ****** from *****'s text on June 23rd stating they were behind due to storms and my place was next. July 26th I messaged asking for update as I had not heard back. July 27th response stating they were waiting for materials to come in. I responded asking when the order was placed since they told me they didn't need to order the metal roofing sheets. I messaged again Aug 11th as no response. Aug 16th sent another message asking for an update, they did respond stating they would get the metal roofing in by next week. I reached out Aug 25th asking for an update and then again Sept 7th, they responded on Sept 7th stating they got caught up on a paver job but I am next. Sept 18th reached out for an update, they got back to me stating by Friday. Sept 29th i asked for an update and they stated no they hadn't started my roof yet be 2 more days yet. Oct 16th, Oct 25th and Oct 27th reached out each time asking for an update, No replies from them after Sept 29, 2022. Oct 27th I informed them I would no longer need their services due to them not starting the project back in June as originally agreed and they could send me a full refund as no materials were provided to me and no services were done. I have not heard anything back from them.

      We have hired Riders' Contracting LLC to reside our duplex. We bought the materials from them and paid $3000, foe the work we gave them an opportunity to live in one of the units of that duplex rent-free for 6 months. Not only they have never showed up at that property to live there nd forn 6 months the unit was completely empty and we lost 6 months of I come, but also they have t done any work on the house. We signed the contract in October of 2021 and now it's November of 2022. The contractor kept feedi g us lies about their buisoness and the stopped responding to the phone calls and text messages what so ever. We would like our money back for the materials, that got spoiled while eating for them to get started $3000, and for the lost potential income of $6000.

      This company came this past spring to fix my shed. They asked for half of the cost up front which I did. They finished part of the project and then asked for more money which I stupidly gave them. Since then they have disappeared. I have called them often with them promising to come back. They left me with a huge mess, which they were supposed to clean up and half of the job left to be done. I am so disappointed! They also got stuck in my yard with theyre vehicle and had promised to fix that. Please help!

      Riders contracting agreed to replace the siding and do metal wrapping around foundation and windows/doors etc. **** came and picked up a $5000 deposit check on 10/08/2021 saying he needed to get the material order in that day to get it in quickly.This is the last time we have seen anyone from riders contracting and have been told over and over they just have a couple of jobs ahead of us and they will be by us in a few days when they finish. When they don't show up each time I get told our materials aren't in and get asked what color and type we want which was settled in October. To date I have been told ********************************************************************************************** not shown up every single time.I call frequently and attempt to meet with them in person or at least set up a phone call and those generally get cancelled or missed. They make no attempt to reschedule or set a firm date for service. I get responses when I ask for a refund or a firm date to complete the work and then the excuses start again. This past week they missed another appointment and instead called asking what color siding I wanted so they can order it! $5000 was paid for materials 10/08/2021 clearly the materials haven't been ordered and they have no idea what material to order or how much and I am done being fed excuses.

      I'm sorry we couldn't work this out and will be processing you your refund of $5,000. We do have your red vinyl siding but was on the understanding that you wanted to use a more of a ***** color vinyl siding. So we would have made that change for you. I was on the understanding you also wanted us to give you a bid on your addition but understand between your busy schedule & ours, it was hard to lock down a date.

      We hired them to repair/replace our roof on Sept 10, 2021. We signed a contract with them and gave them $2,000 in cash (per their request) as a deposit.They did not show up on their start date. They also refused to answer their phones or messages for several days. When they finally responded, they gave us a new start date.They also did not show up on the new start date, nor did they answer their phones or messages again.Several days later, they offered a new start date.They never showed for the next new start date. This continued for a month before they agreed to refund us our $2,000.But when we went to collect our refund, they did not show up at the agreed-upon place and time. Nor would they answer their phones. They sent us a text telling us they did not have to refund us for 15 more days because we cancelled their service. I reminded them they have never showed up to ANY start date and that I considered them to have cancelled on us. They now say they will refund us Monday, October 25th.However, I do not believe they have any intention of refunding us at all, and are instead delaying us again and again.We are including a copy of our contract (the only one we signed).I do have many text messages and some transcribed voicemails from this whole ordeal. We are saving them in case we need to get a lawyer involved, but can provide them to you if they would be helpful.

      My name is ********************* and I'm filing a complaint on behalf of my wife's grandmother, ***********************, who is 89 years old and does not have internet access, nor is she internet savvy. ******* has a contract with Rider's Construction to replace the siding of her home, located at **********************************************************. She provided them with a $7,000.00 down payment ($6,000.00 check and $1,000.00 in cash) to begin work on July 12, 2021. It is now October 5, 2021 and absolutely no work has been completed and no materials have been provided. They've rescheduled a start date numerous times but now they will not answer calls or return phone calls. They are also currently rebuilding a bar, Rider's Tavern, formally Legends Bar, which is less than a mile from our home. It would appear as though they have used her money toward rebuilding their bar. ******* is seeking a refund of her money and does not want to reschedule any work through Rider's Contracting. Thank you for your time and attention.

      Good morning BBB,
      I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ******** and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. Earlier this week Rider's Construction said they would begin work on Friday, October 8th. They failed to show up and called advising they would start "next week" without providing a date or any more information. We still do not have any siding materials either. There has been absolutely no change in their actions.

      *** - Sorry for all the confusion with your grandma but we said we would call on friday with a materials delivery & start date. Had to go through a few suppliers for material due to being special order and shipping being backed up. November 5th is her delivery & start date.

      The only confusion is how ******* provided Rider's Contracting with $7,000 over 3 months ago and still nothing has been started or provided. Apparently November 5th is the new start date which leads me to believe the material was only recently purchased, if it even was, and not purchased when provided the initial down payment. As a non-contractor customer, I would've been able to obtain the siding by now which I easily confirmed with Menards. If Menards could've gotten me the siding by now, I'm sure any other company would surely be able to get a "contractor" the materials by now. Similar to my responses and initial complaint, we STILL have no materials, no work started or completed, no refund, and no proof of purchase or receipt. In short, absolutely nothing has changed. We do not accept their response and will not accept their response until there is an actual change, not just additional false promises of start dates.

      On 8/4/21 My Girlfreind (******* ******) and I ( ****** *****) hired *****'s Contracting to pour a 12x24 floating concrete slab on my property per the contract the work was to begin 2 weeks from signing of the contract which was on or about 8/18/21 . I also gave *****'s Contracting $800.00 on 8/04/21 as half down to begin the work. No one showed up to begin work in the promised time frame. **** did show up a week later for about an hour to remove the frame of the old shed and then said he would be back. **** sent his employee back twice to began forming up for the concrete. I have attempted to call, text and email ****, the only response is from ****** ***** with another promise of another completion date. The completion date comes and goes and no one shows up or calls. I takes multiple attempts before myself or my girlfriend are able to get a response, which is just another excuse and promise of another completion date. Today 09/16/21 we requested a refund of our deposit.
