    We purchased a 1 HP Kasco surface aerator on Sept. 8, 2022 through The Pond Guy. The aerator initially worked as expected. Over the course of about 1-2 weeks, the volume of water gradually decreased to the point it would intermittently stop. We sent a video of the problem to ****, the local Kasco representative who came and took the aerator for service. The aerator was returned to us and put back in the pond by the end of October . Kasco's position was they didn't find anything wrong. We did receive an email, from ***** (Kasco) saying the unit came in without the cord attached so they could not determine if the power cord was defective. Everything was attached to the aerator when **** took it out of the pond and placed it in his truck. Throughout November the water level being pumped by the unit continued to fluctuate noticeably over the course of sometimes 2-3 days to 4 days. We would unplug the unit, it would run at full capacity but gradually diminish. We spent the month of November going back and forth between Kasco and The Pond Guy wanting either a new unit or a refund. Kasco's position is there are no refunds once a unit is in the water. The only way to know if the unit works is in the water. On Dec. 6th, we hired an electrician to confirm the electricity/voltage was adequate for the unit and not the reason for the water fluctuation. We have answered all of their questions regarding the depth of pond water, it was not a clogging/debris issue in the pond. We shipped the unit back to Kasco on Tuesday, Dec. 6th and followed with an email to **** (The Pond Guy) and ***** (Kasco) answering all of their questions and provided pictures of the unit and the electrician's meter readings. We have provided evidence that everything at our house supports that the unit should be running efficiently. A month ago we would have agreed to an exchange for a new unit; now we are asking for a complete refund. This a brief summary of the past 2 months.
