I wrote a review on ****** about the recurring problem I am having with fish dying. I have kept tanks for 30 years, have five tanks currently, and have been a customer for 15 years. Two years ago marine fish that are not captive tend to arrive dead or die within two weeks. I suspect you are sourcing them from somewhere that uses poison to catch them. A common practice in some parts. These two just died and I want a refund.Review from BRITNEY L

DO NOT BUY FISH FROM HERE!I purchased 5 fish from here.experienced aquarist.fish were quarintined.2 fish died within 7 days.sent in the forms for the guarantee and NEVER got a response.Another 2 died soon after.only have 1 left after spending so much money on fish and the insane shipping cost.Also,website clearly states a size range.We purchased bigger fish because if not they would be eaten by the other fish and we received all tiny tiny baby fish forcing them to be quarintined for years had they not all died anyway.BUYER BEWARE!!Review from Eldon W

If you are starting a cichlid tank, don't buy a bunch of small juvenile cichlids from Live Aquaria. It can be a c*** shoot as to what all species you'll end up with. All fish arrived ok and relatively healthy on order of 16 fish, but as they matured it became increasingly apparent that at least 30 to 40 percent of my order are tough to identify as being what I picked. For the most part they only have 3/4 to 1 1/2" juvenile fish, many of which are nearly impossible to confirm correct fish sent. By the time they are big enough to confirm many months have passed. There are a number of reputable online cichlid suppliers that will send you species you can count on as being what you bought.Review from Angela M

Buyer Beware - If there were negative stars, this company would deserve them. They don't care about the welfare of their animals at all. All my fish were shipped from CALIFORNIA, overnight FedEx and DOA. Based on the smell alone, I'd say they were dead at shipping time. No compensation of any kind, their claims process is a joke. They are advertising something they cannot deliver and they don't care because they keep the money regardless. Total FRAUDS!Review from John O

Horrible can't wait to buy from I called to let them know that my fish were dying I spent $150 for Christmas for fish for my grandchildren and an already established aquarium with fish and them. All the fish from live aquaria has died I was able to finally contact someone on the phone that must have been working from home because I could not hear her from her dog's barking in the background. The woman was very rude and ended up hanging up on me. So much for the gifts that I bought for my grandchildren for Christmas how do you explain to a kid that all the fish died that you bought for them but their old fish are still alive. Buyer beware stay away from this company..Review from John S

This business is nothing like it once was in the days of ********************************************** I followed the rules of reporting a loss of fish in many ways. Three dead upon arrival; Filed the same day with photos. Second day; Three more dead overnight. Filed with photos. Third day; I only see three swimming in the aquarium. Since I have a planted tank, I presumed they were dead on the bottom, or eaten by the other fish. They claimed that they never received any of my photos that I uploaded to their website. I did everything within my power to resolve this matter and they rejected me. The result; I paid $126.00 for the fish plus shipping and ended up with a mere three that are alive, and nine that perished.Review from Alvin B.

Ordered a large flame angel fish 2.5-4 inches. A rather large gap but any way I ordered one. What I received was a fish under two inches. I contacted live aquaria and got nonsense and run around. I called again to get resolution and got the same response even after informing them that I would be filing with the BBB and hung up. If you need fish and didn’t check the BBB first I am sorry for you. As you can see from the other complaints that is the way they do business and don’t deserve your business. I would have done business with the local pet store but I suffered a stroke and can’t drive right now.

We spoke to customer twice via phone. 1st time customer stated the Flame Angelfish was smaller than expected but still within the range listed on our website. 2nd call he claimed item was smaller than listed size. We request customer email in a photo of specimen with some frame of size reference, such as a ruler or coin. Customer has not provided photo yet.Live Aquaria Response

Customer did text us his picture and we did confirm he received a Flame Angelfish smaller than stated. Customer was given an in-store credit of $163.11 that he can use within 1 year. Customer was also texted back with this information.Review from Kevin X

A month ago placed order of two cacolate cichlids, three dsimani, and some other fishs total around 150. Arrived with two cocalate cichlids missing and one dasimani dead. The main reason I placed this order was two cocalate cichlids, and they were missed in the shipment. I contacted them the same day, they offered replacement, ok. After two weeks I called them why they didnt ship the replacement, they responded, cocalate cichlids was out of stock where I clearly saw those were in stock from their web at the moment I talking to them. I requested refund not credit in their store since I didnt trust them no more. They agreed by email. Till now I have not received my 85 dollars refund, and they screened my call , not response my refund request email. Actually I dont get it, I been purchasing fish from them for more than 1 year, just for 85 dollars, they wanted to ruin their business.Live Aquaria Response

They sent me over $200 of dead items that arrived a day late and on Xmas Eve. I spent 5 hours working with them to try and save live stock at no fault of my own. They got MY money. I got a wasted Xmas eve that I should have been spending with my family. Went to use my store credit and they told me it had expired. Now that I worked with them, thy can't work with me. Very rude customer service that is replies every few days. Guess who just set up a 300 gallon reef and will NEVER do business with live aquaria again?
