Hired Artisan builders to install counter tops and backsplash tile. Countertops we purchased at Menards We hired Artisan from Menards list of installers. We paid him ****. down to get the counters installed balance of 200. when counters were done. The tile we found at **** tile one of Brets suggested tile wholesalers. On April 21 2023 **** showed up with his crew and installed the counter tops. at that time my wife told him she was not happy with the way the counters were installed and he asured us he would address the counters when they came back to install the tile, we agreed that would be ok. We showed him samples of the tile we picked out he told us it would cost extra to install the tile because it is glass it takes more time to install and a new blade for the cutting machine. I told him that was fine. we paid him for the tile and extra Equipment needed. we paid him *******. 200 was balance owed on counter top install,a little over **** for the tile, and the balance for extra equipment and down payment on labor. The first part of may we found out tile had come in. after numerous calls and texts he said he would check his schedule and get back to us. No call no text would not answer our calls. He finally called me on nov. 16 2023 told me he couldn't find a tile setter that would do the glass tile but if I wanted he would get me the tile and refund the money we paid less the cost of the tile,i agreed to that. He called me nov. 22 said he was going to pick up the tile and drop it off Friday the 23rd. He called back a little while latter a said he had the tile and would like to drop it off being he was close to our house so I told him he could leave it on the front steps as nobody was home he agreed and said he would call me the following Monday or Tuesday to go over how much the refund would be. He hasn't called and won't answer calls or texts

On July 6th I signed a contract with ******************************* of Artisan Builders for him to be our General Contractor. The proposal we both signed had 13 provisions that we both agreed upon to include that **** was a license contractor in the State of ********* and he would be responsible for engaging and paying subcontractors. **** began work almost immediately including his daughter on the projects. (Projects included extensive finishing work on a bonus room and garage to include plumbing, heating, electrical, insulation, flooring and sheetrock)We paid a percentage of the total project to get started - that was $19,998. I work out of town several weeks at a time and once I left things started to slow considerably. We didnt know this at the time, but it seems that **** was using money I paid him to do work on our house for other projects. The money disposition is described in the excel sheet attached (from Artisan). While the garage project / sheetrock was taking place, **** found an **** company to install a boiler in the garage and furnace upstairs in the house. We provided **** with $27,548 for the bid to **************** which is J&N Heating. **** from J&N started the project by installing the boiler and ducting for the upstairs. At this point, **** and Artisan Builders had been fired for shoddy work on the garage (specifically sheetrock) We contacted J&N to continue the **** work. *** said that **** failed to pay him the $27,548 for the **** job. I brought this up to **** and **** admitted that he owed J&N the money and promised to resolve the issue. Since then, my wife and I have reached out to **** with no response. My wife has since found out that **** does not have a license to work in the State of ********* which he claimed. The entire upper half of our house is unheated and winter is already here. All we want is whats due to us - our $27,548 back so we can pay **************** and get this job at least finished enough for winter.

We contracted with Artisan Builders, LLC/******************************* on April 19, 2022, exactly one year and six months ago, to remodel our kitchen. The project was to cost $12,450.00 in total. We paid $2,490.00 up front and nine months later we paid him $6,435.00 to start the job. It took him ten months to start the job initially, and then came out to our house a few times for a couple of hours at a time and then eventually never came back. All that has been accomplished of the entire project is partially painting our kitchen cabinets, and tearing part of a wall down, which has been left unfinished with sheetrock gone, exposed electrical wiring, plumbing pipe, wooden studs and sharp jagged metal. We were told the countertops would be in, in two weeks and that is when he would return to resume/finish the job. He has never returned, claiming one personal problem after another. He has not been here to do anymore work since July 17, 2023. He has stopped returning our phone calls and text messages and does not answer his phone. We've been left with a kitchen that is halfway demolished, is an eyesore and is barely functional. The project is only 10% complete. He has taken off with $9,000.00 of our money and we have nothing but a mess in return. I have a written contract with no end date for project completion, copies of the checks that were written to him and copies of all text messages sent and received.

Recommended from Menards to install new Quartz counter tops. We paid ******* up front of a total *******. He missed several dates. Then said he was injured and missed more. After several unanswered calls I called Menards to contact him. This upset him but we were worried when his phone would stop ringing with no greeting or request to leave a message. He did not answer his phones or return calls. This was to be completed in April. I went to his office and requested my money back, he said he would pay me back when he got a return refund from Menards. We just want our money back so we can move forward with this project.

*************************** (the person who contacted you in this instance) Has been fully refunded as of two weeks ago.

It took a while as we had to get his deposit back from our stone fabricator.

      The matter has been resolved.

My wife and I first contracted our bathroom remodel with Artisan Builders on March 6 2022. We were indicated by Artisan that they could schedule us in their calendar in the July timeframe. The cost of the remodel was $30,000. This compliant is being filed because as work was done in July to "demo" the bathroom, we did not see Artisan builders for months afterwards. ******************************* indicated he had other projects to finish. Recently some additional work has been completed (90% of the rough in), but after multiple attempts to contact Artisan Builders to discuss completion dates, no one from that office has returned our calls or text messages to sufficiently answer that question. Artisan has not provided completion schedules although this was asked for multiple times. We paid $5000.00 at contract signing. We paid $10,000 for the Demo and planning We paid $8000 for a free-standing tub. At this point we feel that Artisan builders has done the required work to justify the rough in payout, and they are abandoning this project as they refuse to communicate with us. We have been waiting 6 months for this remodel. It was promised to begin in July. Artisan builders also failed to pull the appropriate permits with the city of ****** and claimed we had caused these project delays because we requested an inspection for plumbing and electrical. The plumbing work that was done leaked and caused damage through several levels of the house. We have continuously been placed at the bottom of Artisan's priority list and I am requesting assistance getting this project completed.

We hired ******************************* winter 2021 to add a bar to our basement. We wrote him a $5000.00 retainer check as a down payment to start June 2021. We then wrote him another check at the end of May 2021 for $8500.00 to start the job. He began the job in June 2021, since then getting him to complete this project has been anything but easy. He says he is coming to work and then never shows or contacts us and we have to message him to find out why. There is always an excuse. If somebody does show to do any work it is never for more than a couple hours at a time. **** or a crewmember has never put in a full 8 hour day on this job. We had a conversation with **** in September 2021 asking him if he had any intentions of finishing this job and he proceeded to say he was prioritizing this job and was planning on having it finished the end of September 2021. It is now January 2022 and there is still plenty of work to be done to finish this project. We are stilling waiting on cabinets, shelving, staining, lighting, toe kicks and trim. We have tried contacting him 3 times this week and he refuses to respond. We would either like to have an itemized list of the work he's done and be refunded or he prioritizes this job and has it complete by February 1 2022.
