      I purchased a ice auger from this company. From the 1st day of ownership it has a poorly designed throttle cable which freezes when it is outside. They have given tips on how to correct it using lubricants, adjusting idle screws and throttle replacement, however, none of these have resolved my problem. As a result the ice auger is very dangerous to use when the throttle is stuck frozen wide open, as it spins out of control by not having the ability to slow the spinning auger. I've come close to cutting myself with this unit while operating it. I am requesting a full refund for the auger and blade system that I have purchased from them. They continue to ignore my request for a refund. They wont post my poor review of this auger on their website. They need to come clean and refund my money and recognize they have produced a dangerous ice auger that should be recalled and discontinued.

      I purchased a Model *********************************************** a fire several years ago. I was unable to use it for a few years so it was still "brand new". December of of 2020 I filled it with gas for the first time. Upon starting it up at the lake I could smell gas. I found out that the gas was seeping out of a gasket down the gas tank. I contacted Jiffy 12/28/21 and they didn't seem to want to help me until I expressed that it was a liability factor. I talked to ***** first to no avail. Then talked with ********** I ordered a ************* line kit. This did not solve the leaking gas. I expressed concern to *** about it still leaking. I got a new gas tank and that still did not solve the problem. After must frustration with it still leaking gas, *** promised that he wouldn't leave me hanging. On 3/4/21 we agreed that I would bring it up to their facility on. Their technician got the grommet to stop leaking but he had only put a small amount of gas in. When I got home and filled it with gas within 2" from the top of the filler throat I started it and gas was squirting profusely out the cap of the auger. I was afraid of it bursting into flames. I also found out that if I set the auger down the wrong way, gas would run out the center of the cap. *** again reiterated that he would not leave me hanging but at this time they did not have an answer and to contact him December of 2021 and they would have a fix for this problem. He also asked me for a good review of the company which I felt I had to give in order to get this issue solved. Upon contacting them December of 2021 I found out that *** had retired and they pretty much blew me off and not answer or return my calls. *** did return to work for two weeks and I had a brief discussion with him and they sent me a new gas cap. With the new gas cap the auger will not prime or start. I have left numerous messages and have not received any calls back. I have heard that others have had leaking gas caps also.

      We are always happy to resolve a problem when the occur and we actually go out of our way to help our customers.  Including answering the phone live.

      I do not know the serial number of this auger and a gas tank is a wear item along with the gas cap.  This machine might not be under warranty but we still always want to help our customers.

      An easy solution is for this customer to make an appointment with our service department and we will review what is going on with his machine.  Based on the finding I am confident we can find a solution and have this rectified to the acceptance of both parties.  I would encourage that this customer even signs off that he satisfied.
